Has anyone else noticed an odd bug in the current version, where some tables omit the game's background music during the first ball? I've so far noticed it on Cyclone and RBION.

Yes, I am having the music bug with first ball randomly on iOS.

No problem. The music isn't a huge issue since it doesn't affect playability. That persistent slow-down bug, though, is another matter....

Ya, I've been really curious about that bug. I know Ryan and Ben were tracking it but I don't know where they ended up with it. I always assumed the Intel graphics being used instead of the actual video card. That issue occurred a lot on laptops and I had to walk-through some customers with directing the game to the right graphics card.
