Well while some ponder in shame I'm posting lyrics for next song. Might be an easy one (?) but it has great lyrics and I recently saw a video explaining a lot of the lyrics. I'll post the video when song is revealed.

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play

And in the streets, the children screamed
The lovers cried and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken

And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast

Drives me crazy when you go away
I oughta keep you locked up at home
And like a wild horse I wanna break you
I love you so much I hate you

What if a dude sang this. Wouldn't it be a little creepy?
I don't wanna reveal it so soon and spoil the fun.

This is the Theme from Road Show, aka "Every Little Thing" by my cousin Carlene Carter aka "Red".

And yes it is indeed MIGHTY CREEPY when I sing it.

If this is right well I posted my lyrics a page ago. :) :)

I will guess "Hangin' Tough" by New Kids on the Block. Amirite?

Take over, so I guess I get to post, well here's another stone cold classic from the same year as "Hey Joni":

"Don't smoke buddha, can't stand sess, yes"

Rob Base & DJ E-Z it Takes Two. Though the lyrics are both WRONG & incorrect.

"Today is gonna be the day that they'll never throw it back to you.
By now you should have some how realized what you've got to do."

Next:
Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring.
I do, don't you? 'course you do.
But there's one thing that makes spring complete for me,
And makes ev'ry sunday a treat for me.

I just curse the sun so I can howl at the moon."

Like a fever burning faster
You spark the fire in me
Crazy feelings got me reeling
They got me raising steam
Now don't you struggle
Don't you fight
Don't you worry cause it's your turn tonight, yeah

Put my love into you - AC/DC

How about this one....

The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We'll meet again, we'll meet again

Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly

I know the answer; however, I took the cheap way and cut & pasted Kolchak's lyrics into Google search.

I had no idea the idea the name of the song or what band performed the song. I really enjoyed the YouTube vid and it did bring back some memories....Thx:D

The Doors "The Crystal Ship"

An easy one too :

I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears
Kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather
Shiny leather in the dark
Tongue of thongs, the belt that does await you
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart

"Venus in Furs", Severin.

Here...

(Fast and bulbous!)
Fast and bulbous!
(OK, do it again...)
(Love that...)
Fast and bulbous!
(That's right, the mascara snake, fast and bulbous)
Bulbous also tapered
(Yeah, but you've gotta wait until I say: Also, a tin teardrop.)
Christ.
(Again, beginning.)
Fast and bulbous!
(That's right, the mascara snake, fast and bulbous. Also, a tin teardrop)
Bulbous also tapered
(That's right)

Frank, it's ok to cheat if you want. We are just having fun sharing lyrics we like or find interesting. No rules here.

There is a Velvet Underground live cd set coming out in November called The Matrix Tapes. This 4 cd set sounds like it might be fantastic.

You've got me totally stumped with this one. Sounds totally unfamiliar to me. But I'm very curious.

I got the band but not the title...
The album name is probably sufficient. :) This is not singing but a spoken-word part that comes between two songs... it is included with the second of the two on the CD. Frank Zappa says two of the lines.

A funny review of the album:

This is perhaps one of the best-known [CENSORED] albums, and can still be found as a CD. It is everything it is reputed to be: an incredible mix of influences crammed into a double-length album, with a sound that seems to exist outside of most musical styles. With that in mind, it's hard to listen to. A common response to this album (from what I've been told) is initial hatred. It has a very cacophonous sound, but after listening to it for a while, it sort of creeps up on you, and you find yourself loving it. It does take some determined listening, though. Regardless, it is a purchase everyone serious about music should make - just be prepared for a shock if you've been listening to more standard-format music.
