This is what happens when people assume that certain tables are a foregone conclusion and don't vote for them.

I'm really annoyed at this.

TBH, I kind of hope Farsight ignores our lists completely. Based on the tables they've previously released, I think they have better taste than us unwashed masses.

Yeah, I'm going to send them all the tables I voted on and ask them to ignore the rest.

Seawitch was a close 2nd place to Flight 2000 in the Classic Stern poll and now it's dropped to 9 in the Stern/Data East/Sega poll. Seriously, I really hope that FS just ignores some of these results.

I find it interesting that Seawitch actually did relatively well, but of all other Stern Electronics games, from the same time period, only Catacomb even came kind of close to that--all the others were pretty nearly ignored. Which is a shame (and curious!) because many of them have got to be at least as good as Seawitch--I mean Galaxy, Magic, Meteor, Nine Ball, Star Gazer, Stars, Stringray, and Trident.

I voted for all the tables you just mentioned except Nine Ball.

I'll get my full analysis posted shortly, but for now, may I just note what a massacre this poll was for the Stern early solid states? Despite being 17 of the 30 tables in the poll, the only early solid states to crack the top half were Catacomb and Seawitch, with only the latter making it into the top 10. Thankfully, the news is somewhat less disappointing for the rest of the poll–High Roller Casino's strong fifth-place finish was heartening to me, as I literally played this table until it broke at PAPA 16 and knew that it was one of the less popular DMD pins out there (hence why I played it so much). Tales from the Crypt's pole-position finish should surprise nobody, but Viper Night Drivin' taking tenth counts as somewhat of an upset, although the number of people announcing their sympathy votes for it makes this quite a foreseeable turn of events; then again, given the apparent hypnotic power of the DMD on some pinheads and how weak the two DMD decks outside the top 10 were, perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised. Despite my disappointment at the utter demolishing of Stern v1.0, I look forward to taking a closer look at the results here...

Tftc is no surprise. Monopoly is no surprise. Roller Coaster Tycoon...big surprise and a pleasant one at that. I thought I would have been in the minority in voting for it.

I'm a bit disappointed to see the early sterns place so weakly as well but I'm guessing that like me, a lot of people don't know them as well as the newer ones.
