Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but there is also the 8 page ad for Bally Space Invaders. Not sure if it counts as a flyer but it is interesting.

I remember it being EXTREMELY slow. But the SFX were really cool.

1538th pinball played by Fungi.
I'm really impressed. Really.
You played them all !!!
I only played about 60-70 different tables IRL...

Edit. maybe less but maybe more

My, what an impressively-wide girth you have there Mr Alien.

Gives a new meaning to pulling the plunger.

"...it kept gettin bigger and bigger"

On a side note, why aren't there more 8 page ads with mini comics for machines?
Give the artists something to do while the engineers work.

Because the internet exists, I guess. These flyers were the only chance to capture an order. Now marketing is at saturation, and this type of marketing isn't as effective vs cost.

It's a shame...

And they were mailed out to game operators but most were typically handed out at trade shows or game distributors.

SHARPSHOOTER
(Game Plan/1979/4.200 units)
The guy in the center is the famous Roger Sharpe.
He designed the table.

HOT HAND
(Stern/1979/4.117 units)
This machine has a large "flipper" at the top of the playfield that slowly turns throughout the game.
Any ball in the area gets knocked around and out of the pockets surrounding the oversized flipper.

Even Laurel and Hardy had their Pinball-theme in 1977 (Segasa/Sonic).
But, don´t get me wrong, Hardy looks a little bit gay. Maybe Stan Laurel tortured him with a lipstick?
