A request has been made to open a thread that can kind of coalesce various cabinets that are running the Arcooda Pinball Arcade software with next to no issues.

If that sounds like you and your experience, please post pics, vids, type of cabinet, and specifics to how you set up the parameters here. I am looking for successful installs only, so that others might use this thread as a one stop guide rather than having to scour through all the other threads.

Thanks everyone!

Here is my video of the Setup/Demo of how to configure the software to run on a VPCabs Vertigo along with brief looks at running three of the tables (“Attack From Mars”, “Circus Voltaire”, and “Funhouse”) with the new camera views on the cabinet. The table demos start at 4:31.

Please keep in mind that since this video was made the DMD for “Funhouse” was fixed:

vfpcoder, Thanks for posting your video. It was hard to tell by the video, but it does not look like you are getting the stretched out, egg-shaped ball at the top of the table like some of us. Is this correct?

Yes, that’s correct: The only time I have seen the “egg-shaped” ball effect — even briefly — was on the “Genie” table. And I’m not sure which camera view I was on at the time. I’m also not getting a “slow down” on any of the camera views.

The VPCabs Vertigo contains a 32” playfield and a 15.6” top monitor. It contains an Intel i3 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 950 card.

Thanks for confirming vfpcoder. I am having no performance issues either, just the egg-ball rearing it's ugly, misshapen head at me. Hopefully FarSight can figure it out why this is happening for some of us and not others. My playfield monitor is a 27" ASUS gaming monitor and my backglass/dmd is set up on an old 24" Samsung monitor. I have no idea if this set up is what is causing my issue since this is all new to me, as I have never set up a cabinet mode before. Also, I don't have a cab. I just have the two monitors sitting on my desktop with the monitor for the backglass/dmd to the right of the playfield monitor. The game runs super smooth for me in cabinet mode. Even better than in regular DX11. They must have tweaked the physics some. My computer runs an Intel i5 (Skylake) has 8GB RAM and a GTX 950 card.

So here's The Getaway running on my cab. I've got some really er, humble, hardware (i3 4640, GTX 670 playfield, GTX 270 backglass and DMD, 8 GB RAM) but it's able to run it smoothly.

I noticed after I uploaded the video that I hadn't adjusted the brightness settings for this table yet, but it looks even better now that I have

Just a heads up...

Every now and then I plan on cleaning up the thread of all random comments and leaving behind only the specs, pics, and vids. This has nothing to do with the conversations happening, only a means of keeping the thread on point.

He looks to be running the touchscreen version of the software on that setup(modified menu at the bottom of the screen) Presumably that's a preview copy of the full arcooda package.

He was able to get that with the regular $150 version. He had posted instructions on how to do so in one of his posts earlier, but it looks like he edited it to remove them.

Seems like its the same story as with the switch release. I'm a day late and missed the party.:p

Note to farsight/arcooda: if its in the software we've already been delivered we should be able to utilize the feature, just don't provide any support to the $150 steam buyers, please leave it in!

Thanks everyone!

So I have a fairly solid build completed. Below are the PC specs and major parts. I am using Steam in Big Picture Mode. I then use either my Inland Mini Keyboard or the Cabinet buttons to navigate to the Real Pinball Game. I can play either the DX11 mode or the Arcooda Cabinet mode. The DX11 mode is close to cabinet mode without the backglass but still with the DMD. I set the VituaPin controller up as the Steam generic controller and can use the cabinet controls to navigate the steam big picture frontend and the Real Pinball menu also. I took an X-Box controller and wrote down all of it's mapping, then mapped the cabinet buttons to mimic the controller. The Tilt//Nudge is the Left joystick so I had to physically move the Virtuapin controller to get it's axis's mapped. In the VirtuaPin settings I adjusted the plunger to allow for skill shots and found a good setting for the nudge/tilt multiplier to get it setup. It plays well and I am happy with it so yea!

Misc. Parts

"Green" power strip. One plug activates all the others, so when the PC is turned on the monitors, subwoofer and power supply for the LED's turn on.
Cabinet mount USB plug. When you just gotta have that keyboard or mouse when setting things up.

Main PC

Intel Core i5-7500 Processor 3.40GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB GDDR5
8GB DDR4-2133 RAM

49” Samsung UHD TV
32” LG
VirtuaPin Controller

Here is my finished cabinet.

Painted aluminum for glass frame. Needs some cleanup where adhesive/caulk seeped out. The usb mount down low.

That's a fantastic post! Exactly the type of thing this thread is set up for. Who's next?

I've been waiting for an official cabinet mode for a long time, so it gave me a good excuse to finish up my DIY pinball cabinet. Finally got around to painting.

I've got a Zebs board deluxe plunger kit for interface, giving nudge and plunger support via JoyToKey and X360CE. Now to stop futzing with the building and get to playing.

Hi these are some pics and rough specs of my work in progress hybrid cab:

Specs:
23" FHD IPS backglass monitor
32" FHD IPS playfield monitor (will replace with 40"4K someday)
10.1" 1280x800 IPS HDMI DMD touchscreen monitor (Waveshare)

Backbox and screens are smaller/custom size but for me it works well for now. Also the IPS image quality is great.

Marvel and Star Wars themed Vinyl childrens room Wallstickers as temporary cabinet artwork :) Suprised how well these stuck to the cab wood finish, quite cheap and good quality prints.

Modified IKEA cabinet as backbox
Modified Virtuapin Speaker panel
Virtuapin WPC standard body flatpack which I got at a nice discount :)
I used VirtuaPin Leaf switches for the pinball buttons

PC:
I5 3.x ghz
8GB
W10 home
250GB SSD
GTX1050
Creative/Cambridge 2.1 pc speaker/sub set

2 Player Arcade setup
I-PAC Arcade button controller board
PAC drive LED controller board

AC Airplate 3 USB powered controlable fan for creating airflow

Added Philips Hue lightstrip with hue sync software so it can react to screen change or sound. Works quite well I think, routed underneath and on back of cabinet. Maybe I will post a video later.

Using Attract mode with a vertical theme to launch/browse the games including mame as there is a joystick navigating is no problem.
Mame also launches horizontal games on the backglass and vertical games on the playfield now i just need to have game marquees appear on the DMD...

Digital plunger is also on the todo list.
