POTO still crashing app when achieving highscore

Hi fellow iOS people,
Am I the only one with a crashing POTO table (when achieving highscores)? I have heard from about 2 people who have the same problem, but surely there are more? Please confirm this in the bug thread I started for iOS version 4.3.1 http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/9449-TPA-4-3-1-1-for-iOS so that we can get this under the attention of Farsight. Be careful to do a remote backup before trying to achieve the high score, because the app will crash, and worse, also the remote restore won't work afterwards necessitating a full reinstall.
Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. Since the table sucks anyways, doubt many are trying to play it. Though I have been playing heavily

I just changed devices and lost my high score on POTO and ES. Everything else is good, but also affected my HOF points. I will now refrain from playing this table as well until it is fixed I guess.

It crashes alright. It didn't crash like this in the initial release (4.1.0?), it started with the first update to the table that came after a week or two (4.1.1?). I kind of like the table and would really like to see it fixed, I'm not playing it until then. There were a couple more users that confirmed this bug. Toolinit I think and someone else. Looking at the leaderboards I'd say it affects most everyone. I get the same problem that you do with Remote backups afterwards, but that problem goes away after some time. Not sure why, but I haven't reinstalled the app ever.

well, it crashed on me the first time I hit over 20m. however, it still gave me hof points and the score is on the leaderboards. however, since changing iPads, the hof points are gone and so is the local high score. Probably not going to try to one-up it until it is confirmed I won't have an issue with high scoring.

Thanks for confirming. Maybe POTO isn't the most popular table but I still would like to see it work properly. Interesting that remote backup started working again without reinstalling, I wouldn't have bet on that myself!

If anybody's down to check it out still, the GC High Score crash appears to be fixed in the latest update.
Tried it several times myself with no crash.

The initials are still incorrect, but the crash has not occurred for me. Let me know if anyone sees differently.

Had it crash on me yesterday during the tournament and when it crashed I wasn't able to continue playing and couldn't get the game to function at all. Had to google 'how to close a crashed app' before I could use it again.

On a side note...how hard is this table to play! Don't even think I've reached the free extra ball yet! Always losing the ball down the middle. Not a complaint by the way, just frustrated how rubbish I am at this table! :)

Hi Rschwanter,
Still crashing.....
Initials are indeed still incorrect, but after getting a GC score it also still crashes to "desktop" when updating. It did register my score and gave me the corresponding HOF points. It did not register the score on the leaderboards. And also the remote backup option is corrupted again, necessitating a whole fresh install again (while losing my progress also I might add). Sigh....

Device: iPad Air 2
iOS: 8.1
TPA version: 4.9.0 #8

This essentially still renders POTO unplayable for me, so I still hope a fix is possible!

L33 :This is a quite hard table. I did manage tot score 31M just yet to try if the bug was still there. This was including achieving a "double your score" at the last ball. It's a bit of a drain monster, the gap between the flippers is quite wide. Getting to know the angles is important, as is nudging (a lot). Would love to play this table more, but I now will only touch it if somebody can prove to me without a doubt that it doesn't crash anymore. This is probably about the fourth time I had to do a complete reinstall and restore of my (HOF) points and achievements.

Definitely a drain monster...thought it was just me. :) I think the key to scoring high is definitely the 'double your score' route.

Are you on POTO V4 in Manage Tables?

I am now after complete reinstall, not sure which version I was on before but it did not update before I played the table, so I guess that would have been V4 also?

Yay it worked! :) Initials don't work but I don't care about those. It didn't crash, posted my score correctly and ended without problems. I even got 1k HOF right off the bat with 71M. That would have been a good time to hit that double your score shot, but alas... I'll have plenty of time to play it more now when it's fixed.

Please do back up your save data, local and remote beforehand.
Like I said, I can no longer repro this, but better not to take chances.
Don't worry, I've learned to use the remote back up before meddling with POTO ;) Turns out that this time it wasn't needed though! :)

Gus, can you post more info about your iPad: model, iOS version etc? I remember that a while back especially newer devices gave problems, of which one dealt with POTO crashing. I temporarily switched back to an older iPad 2 to keep playing some troublesome tables. I may try that again for POTO now I thinking of it. I do sincerely hope it's not only a local problem with my iPad Air 2.

Some problems do only occur on 64 bit devices, but I was testing this primarily on an iPad mini 2 which is a 64 bit device.

I'm using an Ipad 4th gen (MD513KS/A). Running v8.2 (12D508). Time to install 8.4 I guess :)
