I found that this tourney was tougher than usual (as I don't own all the tables, I didn't play too much for this tourney though). A lot of new players which put some great scores too. And hard tables too (F2K makes me mad). Whatever, I saved my place in this tier. :p

Congrats to Chopin6868 and thepindo.

NB: 825 new players for the PSN tourney (July all-time ranking: 3453 players, August: 4278). Good! :)

I got home from work just in time to collect the Silver scores before it closed. I made it by only about 6 minutes, so they should be fairly accurate.

The silver winner managed to get into the top 5 on every table this time around.

After I finished recording the overall standings I switched to view my score, and it returned no results. All of the other lists were blank after that. So you cannot stay in the tournament menu and check on them indefinitely, they all clear about 10 minutes after it ends.

I took position 20 on both Black Hole(2nd attempt) and Flight 2000, and 31st on Black Knight, so very pleased with that. If only I was any good at Twilight Zone and White Water I might have had a decent result despite missing the S3 tables. I know I could have been better on Black Hole and Pin*Bot, but I set my personal best scores on a couple others. As it was I wound up 100th overall. Not too bad considering I only had a couple hours to play between life and schedules and a lot of time spent trying to repair my PS3 hard disk and then getting a new one. Probably didn't get more than 5 games on each table except TZ which I still only had 290 million. I just can't figure that table out.

On a side note... do we know why Black Hole seems to be the only table that has a tournament difficulty setting?

EDIT: The forum returned an error of some sort with this post, not sure what I did wrong.

Because the first tournaments didn't have the time-limit rule. So, the extra-balls were deactivated on BH (otherwise you could have play forever).

Now, with time limit, it is no more relevant (although, in 20 minutes on BH, it's very hard to lose 3 balls and have a game over! )

Well that was my first thought, but they had lots of tournaments with no time limits and released lots of other tables you could play for hours during that time. Disabling extra balls on SS or BoP for example would have probably been welcomed by a lot of people better than me. Even I can start to get bored on some of them when I'm doing well. :)

Thanks Morg for putting up the silver results.

Quickly looking at the Silver results and comparing them to Gold, the 1st place on Pin*Bot Silver would have sufficed for a 3rd place in the Gold Tier which means that we'll see some new names (Class of August 2014) right up there in the Table Top-10s next tournament. Soon we're going to really have to work for it just to "stay afloat" in Gold, so to speak.

It would appear that the system stops accepting scores (or just does not count them) when the tournament ends (08/29/2014 22:24PM GMT this time) then waits for the next regular update/tabulation which will then be a special "Tournament Ended" mode, filling the Final Standings, All Time Rank tables and clearing the tournament ones. The 10 minutes sounds about right, I've had to wait longer for my score to show up.

Maybe FlippyFloppy can explain how it really works, how/if scores that are "posted" seconds before the deadline are treated, and if there's any way the system can be patched on their back-end and in the next client update so we can continue to see the table scores after the tournament ended.

I thought about the possibility that a final update might come later. Tried checking the overall standings to confirm that nothing changed but now it's telling me there are no results. When I got into silver I posted the score that got me in within about 5 minutes of the end, but it did update immediately that time. Sometimes it doesn't update things for quite a while in these last few tournaments, at least while they are open.

Pretty happy of this #7 spot for the time of play i had and the table selection, i did well on 2 of my top tables (F2K and WD) and really bad on tables i almost never played (BH, BK, BK2K). Didnt have time enough to make a strong whirlpool challenge on WW, and i didnt do enough on tables where the timed tournament mode changes strongly the strategy (TZ i imagine, didnt play this one that much, and especially PinBot).

Should be worst for the next one as i wont be at home most of the week, so my goal is a top 5 in October, yop 3 if Touge Killer is really retired ;)
