Well the Stern license doesn't have to be exclusive to only one company.
I think Stern covers Sega and Data East. Williams & Bally are seperate licenses.

I believe if zen is doing the new sterns, that they will be recompiled. it won't be emulation. Since stern will have the source it will be pretty easy to script things accurately.
Why would they have to do this? Zen's stuff seems to sell just fine as it is.That said Zen is not replicating reality with their physics, and never has been. so they will have to tweak it so the flippers act like real ones.

Back earlier in this thread, someone said that Stern maybe looking to build virtual elements in their tables. Has anyone thought that perhaps Stern is going to do a real table based on a Zen original design? I didn't see that idea brought up here in this thread unless I missed it. But the possibilities my oh my....
