Time for an update from FS I think, not that I'm doubting that we'll get there but there is always a bump after an update. Maybe they could post a little video about how digitizing TZ is going.
While I agree with your assessment that they need to wait a bit for the next one, the causes for the slightly slower KS could be found elsewhere as well: its the end of the month after a vacation period for instance. Nonetheless, I'm not paying for another table this year.
T2 came out in 1991, the first table designed to use a DMD (though Gilligan beat it to the market), and used a more limited chip set. Thus, much like every table released before 1993, it had a shallow rule set and fewer sound effects and music. Addams suffered from this as well, but the theme and presentation were so good you forget about it while you're playing. With all due respect I don't see how T2 could be dated it came out 8 years before the whole industry crashed and it's not like Stern has brought anything new to the table since then. I would take T2 before any table Stern has released since then. Off course I've been praying for T2 since I first heard of TPA so I might be a bit biased.
Checkpoint was the first DMD table. T2 was the first table with a video mode. This does not affect your argument, however. (Although T2's gameplay is much shallower than TAF's in my opinion.)T2 came out in 1991, the first table designed to use a DMD (though Gilligan beat it to the market), and used a more limited chip set. Neither T2 or T3 are worth the expensive licenses by themselves, but when you put them together, they're a powerful combination.

Or if they want to keep on topic, a homemade gameplay video on sttng.
one week and no updates?
I'm fairly certain it'll be a video of them playing the actual table.
That multiball at the end of the vid looks crazy fun!
