"Hey everyone. We can now officially announce that the Pinball Arcade has extended it's WMS license! A bunch more Williams and Bally tables are included in this deal that will let us keep preserving awesome pinball for as long as our sales stay strong!

Kicking us off will be the long awaited Steve Richie masterpiece, Black Knight 2000!!!

Black Knight 2000™ (1989): The Black Knight rides again in this brilliant sequel to the Steve Ritchie hit from 1980. Players take on the role of good versus evil as they battle the Black Knight in high velocity gameplay. The game is all about speed and quick reactions, highlighted by features such as an upper and lower level, repeating U-Turn and Skyway Loop shots rewarding accurate shooters and a Drawbridge that lowers to reveal a ramp. The patented Magna-Save™ feature from the original game is back. This allows players to activate a ball saving magnet preventing balls from draining. Great scores are achieved by collecting Lightning Wheel Awards, scoring Hurry-Up bonuses and playing the three awesome Multi-Ball rounds, including The King's Ransom Wizard mode. 5,703 units of this table were produced."

VERY excited for BK2K. The news about a bunch more Bally/Williams tables coming in the future is almost as exciting.

I wonder if farsight has been shooting down all the WMS tables on Facebook since they couldn't confirm the WMS license renewal. Maybe now they can give more optimistic responses for some of those tables that they "didn't have plans for"

If I hate BK will is there any chance I'll like BK2K?

Yes. They have some similarities like the manga save, dual level playfield but bk2k has a different feel to it and actually was the first table with a wizard mode. So the rules are more geared to getting to that. It is probably much less challenging than black knight and success is reliant on mastering reflex shots with one flipper.

I actually don't care for the original BK too much. Especially on TPA for the obvious reasons. Pharoah is my fave of the four early 80's Williams double deckers.

On the other hand I LOVE BK2K. I think it's the combination of the music, choreography, art, rules, light show and the overall flow of the table that puts it above the original for me. Plus, the voice work is MUCH improved. While I really like Bally's early voice effects and find Gottlieb's or Stern's to be fun and campy, I don't dig most of Williams as it's so monotone yet over the top.
