Steam Controller for TPA

Has anyone tried the new Steam controller for TPA? I'm looking at new controllers and while I'm leaning towards the XBOne controller for PC, I've seen many ads for steams odd-looking controller. I've heard every review from best to worst, and I just want to see if anyone uses or has used the new Steam controller for TPA.

TPA only supports XInput, as far as I know.

Steam launcher takes care of it, and will use controller emulation to use the proper input, as near as I can tell.

So it will probably work.

Are you using the Steam controller over Steam Link or directly plugged into your machine? I'm interested in getting both the controller and link and I'm wondering if it works ok when streaming (I would be using hardwired ethernet, not wifi).

I use the controller directly plugged in to the pc. For this application, it is basically the same as a typical Xbox controller, so I don´t think it should be an issue to use with the Steam Link.
