It just looks like pin*bot with a dmd. Am I missing something as to why this is exciting news?

To me it's not "exciting news" but rules are really different.
Pin*Bot is a table everyone knows but Jack*Bot still is a very solid one.
If you forget about the trilogy thing Jack*Bot is a (very) interesting pin to play.
Just my opinion though.

I'm okay with Jack*bot. I like Pin*bot enough. Glad to have another card themed table. Only got to play once, but i remember the DMD being very cool.

Now with Jack*bot and HRC in, I'd love to see Maverick be the next card themed table to make it's way into TPA.

I think I played Jack*Bot, once, a long time ago. But Pin*Bot is one of my favorite TPA tables, which I also got to play IRL recently too, so how can a slightly more modern makeover with a casino twist go wrong, eh?

I have no love for pin*bot, but think jack*bot is a load of fun. So even though they have the same layout, there is a world of difference between them.

So, Ace's High ey? I don't like Gottlieb's but at least their EM's are better than their newer tables. Already dreading the Wizard Goals on this one! Let us guess, 10x the normal high score? :)

Excuse me I think you'll find that's a bally table.

e: And yes I'm joking, there are tables with nearly identical names from both companies.

It's Pin*Bot with a DMD, alright........and one of the best music scores in all of pinball IMO!

I'm surprised you say that. Many pinball fans equate the soundtrack to music from a bar for some reason, but I agree with you. The Casino Run music really builds up tension for you to stop and collect your rewards or keep going and risk collecting bombs.

I owned a Jack*Bot for about a year and it is a really nice table imho :)

Disclaimer, I am not a pro pinball player :p

Does Jack*Bot play much different than Pin*Bot? I've never played it and the layouts of those two tables look very similar.
Yes, they are almost identical, more so than HS and HS2, but the rule set is much different, and, in addition to the DMD, the hardware allows more and higher quality sound effects, and a lot more voice acting. The playfield is also slightly altered so the outlanes aren't so drain-happy.

I just hope that when The Getaway is finally released, it includes "La Grange". While CFTBL and TPZ are still enjoyable even with tracks scrubbed due to lack of rights, TG needs it's main track from ZZ Top.

Yeah, HS2 just ain't the same without La Grange, honestly. Getting the rights to that song is a must since it's the main theme.

BTW, don't forget to hold flippers during Casino Run, guys.

Note the cards: (also with pretty noticeable photoshop)

The cards on the Jack*Bot playfield are spread out more than on the picture in the hint. Also in Jack*Bot on the 2s you can just make out the left-hand edges of the big heart and spade symbols in the middle of the card; they're not visible in the hint picture. So I'd say those are two different images of Aces-over-Two full houses.

[Edit] Actually it's a generic spread of 5 cards - I'm going to say it's AS-K?-Q?-J?-10? - with the A and 2 images photoshopped over the corners.
