Jack*Bot is also vastly improved by setting specials to 500 million, and extra balls to 250 million. this way it's a fun tournament game.

And yes, casino Run is random, and cannot be ever made un random. that's why we also have multiball which is not random. with those changes, casino run is competitve with mega visor.

I agree Who Dunnit is better in tournament mode, though I've gotten pretty good karma with that game in league play. But man, without that turned on that game can easily start arguments, with second chance being effectively an extra ball, and the roulette shenanigans.

But yes that setting for operation thunder MUST be changed. You can't just put off the missions either. you are forced into starting them, and the only ones that last indefinitely are the multiball ones.

we all know that the real reason tx-sector was picked was it's music. :)

...Dammit, how the HELL did I forget about Jack-Bot? That's one of my top 10 games in TPA, thanks to this game introducing me to it! Thanks, man.

By the way, check out Bowen Kerins' Jack-Bot tutorial on YouTube. It's really cool, especially when he gets to Casino Run. Probably his best tutorial overall.

Side note: What are the exact settings for Jack-Bot to have 500M Specials and 250M extra balls? Because the instructions for that game keep saying Specials are ONE million, which is pathetic in that game. And extra balls, I can only turn them off entirely. Are both built into the Tournament Play setting?

But yeah, as much as I love TX-Sector's incredible music, this thing has a thinner ruleset than the original High Speed. And I love High Speed, don't get me wrong, but this was two years later. Did it have something to do with all those restrictions Gottlieb/Premier reportedly put on their designers at that time?

At least I like it better than Victory...which Indy 500 will make up for in terms of racing theme.

No Facebook here. 'sides, there are still some other Williams games that need higher priority, like Swords of Fury and Rollergames. Maybe Fire too. Hell, all the System 11 games.

Yes (especially Rollergames), and some Bally System 11 games as well. (examples: Radical!, Game Show, Mousin' Around).
Sword of Fury would be a great fit-no idea why it wasn't more popular back in the day.

But the one Bally I want first is EBD. It was the one I voted for in the Bally poll late in 2012.

Agreed! EBD is top of my list as well. Hopefully they don't slip Breakshot in as a pool game just because it is a DMD. There is a reason EBD sold what it did! But who know's, with the Stern Deal we will probably get Sharkey's Shootout instead.....

I feel like EBD has really gotten the shaft by FS for no good reason.

There was a poll a few years ago for a classic Bally, with EBD, Centaur, and Fireball as the choices. Centaur won that by a relatively small margin, while Fireball got hardly any votes. Fast forward to now, and now both Centaur and Fireball are in TPA, but EBD is nowhere to be found.

I think FarSight stated that they did Cue Ball Wizard in place of that table because they thought the table was much better than it.

What about Seawitch? The margin between Flight 2000 and Seawitch in the early Stern poll was very slim as well (possibly slimmer than the margin between Centaur and EBD). I haven't played any Stern Electronics machines IRL, but I would love to see more in TPA. Flight 2000 is a blast.

Edit: I looked it up and Flight 2000 just beat out Seawitch by 4 votes. Ouch!

Cue Ball Wizard sucks. One of my least-played tables. Man, if that's true that's irritating.

Seawitch is pretty cool. I played one at Logan's in Chicago. They have a lot of Sterns from that era. I really like the art from that period. I wish modern Stern would take cues...

This is a rumor that has gotten blown way out of proportion over the years.

It was ONE Facebook post made by the old FB/social media rep. He basically responded to one guy who said "I like this better than Eight Ball Deluxe" with a stock "Yeah us to that's why we made it".

In reality, the only reason they made it was because they ran out of WMS licenses and CBW was a high ranker on the Gottlieb poll. Remember, CBW was released during the WMS drought.

Except for the part where I have actually talked, in person, with a certain FarSight employee, who said he really liked Cue Ball Wizard but had never played EBD. In truth I think it is a combo of the two factors, the WMS license issue and lack of hands on experience with EBD as opposed to CBW.

I'll admit that I was jumping to conclusions a bit there, but I think the point stands that they didn't just do it because they "thought it was much better". Especially if they never even played EBD. I don't get how someone can claim one is better if they never played the other.

And I have never met a person who genuinely preferred CBW over EBD after having played both.

Until recently I'd only ever played CBW. I still liked EBD better. Now I've actually played EBD, CBW can burn.

CBW is alright with me. The actual cue ball makes for a nice touch, and was nicely done for TPA. It's actually a lot more fun IRL, if you can find one in serviceable condition.

But EBD takes the cake with its' playfield design, rule sheet, and great old-school pinball sounds. Hopefully we'll get it finally in season 6. I think if Sharkey's Shootout gets released, it will probably be exclusive to STPA.

Steam achievements are up. Indy 500 confirmed. Close the thread!!!

Edit (cause I don't want to double post): I guess Indy 500 will be the first table to not make it the month it is supposed to come out (next Friday is July 1st)
