Tables that fired other tables.

There is always a reason why do we play particular table - might be one particular shot, that special toy, very interesting rule, wizard mode or certain feature that is not to be found in any other table. But later you might come across the table that does the same but in a better way and it will replace your old table.

I want to keep this thread friendly and relaxed therefore there is no right or wrong, so don't judge others for their posts. It is mainly for us to realize similarities and the differences between the tables.

Please always write a reason why the table fired other table !!!

This thread is for all TPA, real life and other software tables.

AC/DC & STTNG fired Terminator 2 - I played T2 because of the gun and multiball where you had your jackpot doubled or tripled. You can find the gun in AC/DC and I think it is Ferengi mode in STTNG that multiplies your jackpots for locking the balls.

I like the use of the gun in Dirty Harry as well. The gun or cannon type toy is always fun. Even non-pinball junkies seem to like it. AC/DC is probably my favorite use of it, especially when shooting the bell with it. The swinging bell and ringing sound make it very satisfying to me.

Cactus canyon and Pirates of the Caribbean fired Junkyard - I liked the idea of - the more fireworks collected the more time during the wizard mode. This same mechanism is in Cactus Canyon by winning the quickdraws that add extra time during the High Noon. Collecting 2 or 3 junks in the same group would allow you to play a mode. Completing 2 tasks on your compass in Pirates lets you play a mode.

High Roller fired Who dunnit - Only interesting features that caught my attention in Who dunnit has been the slot machine and roulette. High Roller is fully dedicated to all casino games and is done really well.

CSI fired Dracula - I liked innovative table that is only about the multiballs and nothing else. However the bad layout and quick draining table was not much fun. Csi does not drain quickly, shots are more interested and it has extra interesting feature of microscope - 3 colours to collect.

Frankenstein fired Stones and bones from pinball fantasies - SnB has been my first favourite pinball before finding out anything about the real tables. You went through the modes which has been switched on by hitting and spelling standing targets. You switch on modes by spelling Frankenstein and they are more interested with giving you a reward for completing them + wizard mode at the end.

AC/DC might fire both CSI and Dracula - AC/DC does contain 3 different multiballs that can be stacked up if I am not mistaken + is more deeper table.

Real tables fired Pinball Illusions - before knowing the real tables Pinball Illusion was first pinball where I had chance to experience mutliball, modes, and jackpots.

Pro pinball firing all computer software - pro pinball seems to have the best ball physics and therefore firing all the computer pinballs. But at the same time.

The Pinball Arcade firing Pro pinball and all computer software - There is nothing better than playing a recreation of real tables.

DMD and post DMD/90's tables firing all pre DMD and EM tables - I like complex rules and deep strategies. Pre 90's tables cant satisfy me in this direction.

Stern Tables firing 90's tables - Stern tables starting to be very deep and complex which gives me more satisfaction than many of the 90's tables.

Spiderman might fire AFM - Spiderman has the same centre shot as AFM but without making it feel repetitive. It has much complex rules with better wizard mode and much better gamplay after beating the wizard mode. It will last longer and there is more to do. Have to play more to see if it can actually replace AFM.

The Getaway fired High Speed - Once you get the Jackpot and max out the bonus, there is really nothing left to do on HS. HSII gives us basically the same table design while fixing all the rest. I can't go back.

As far as pinball machines with spinning discs, many would say that Whirlwind fired Fireball. But I am not one of those people. I much prefer Fireball to Whirlwind. Whirlwind has three spinning discs instead of one, much more complex rule set, and a more modern sound and light package as well. I enjoys both pins, but for pure unadulterated joy of play, I will take Fireball every time. The red spinning disc on Fireball adds a level of chaos that is unmatched. It can be cruel and unpredictable to the point that some find that it rewards chance over skill at times. My head tells me Whirlwind is a better pin, but I just enjoy Fireball more, not because of nostalgia (grew up playing both often), but because of what I call fun factor.

There are also many other pins with spinning discs such as Twister, No Good Gofers, Tron, etc. But for me the two spinning disc icons are Fireball and Whirlwind. Tron is a great game but the disc doesn't play as big a role as it does in FB or WW.

Pro pinball firing all computer software - pro pinball seems to have the best ball physics and therefore firing all the computer pinballs.

This. I loved all the DOS-era computer pinball sims: Pinball Dreams, Fantasies, Illusions; Silverball and Epic Pinball; the Littlewing series (Crystal Caliburn), Psycho Pinball. But Pro Pinball blew them all away and I could never seriously get back into any of them. Way bigger firing than anything that ever happened among real machines.

Addam's Family (in real life) honestly fired pretty much every previous lawlor pinball besides banzai run. Has all the trademark shots of his and then some, a skill shot that's actually advantageous to shoot (a rarity for a lawlor game) and a totally awesome theme package. It didn't become the best selling pinball game ever for nothing.

Sure lawlors other offerings are still pretty darn good. but addams blows them out of the water.
