That has lots of bits that can easily be lost / bent / eaten / destroyed. My 5yo is doing a number on the WiiU and the Classic Controllers (his particular specialty is chewing cables... the Classic Controller to Wii Remote cables are a favorite... sometimes actually plugged-in-to-an-adapter-that-is-plugged-into-the-mains USB cables). I can only imagine what he'd do to this.

Not feeling this...

take introverted anti-social gaming and insert it awkwardly into social settings.
Adults do not do this. Hope the kiddos love it.

A fair number of adults, particularly college students and the henpecked husbands they've grown up into, do do this. And have been ever since Pokemon 18 years ago.

I'm pretty stoked about this thing.
It's flexible, looks to be somewhat powerful, and basically everything the Wii U SHOULD have been.

Pokemon GO did show us that people are willing to go out and game socially.

For me, well I can play my games while taking a crap if I want to, my Wii U Gamepad doens't quite reach.

Having a few people come over with their switches provides an interesting opportinity for not only networked, competitive play, but asynchronous gameplay modes as well.

battery lifes gonna be pretty below average for highend "tablets" 4-6 hours would be my guess, i hope theres proper support and not just ports of mobile games from the third parties, if its true that the new zelda is also on this i might consider one and a sane pricepoint

New Zelda will most definitely be on this.

I may even consider getting the Wii U version and keeping it shrink wrapped for 10 years or so.
Battery life at 4-6 hours is about what I'm expecting, but if we can use a battery pack (i have a 20,000maH battery for my phone) to extend that I'm good with that.
I really don't think we're getting a bunch of mobile ports here, but games that would normally be made for handhelds like proper Pokemon games, Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter will very likely be in the mix.

With Nintendo Consolidating their Console and Handheld divisions, game droughts will be fewer and further between, not considering 3rd parties at all.
The list of third parties currently is pretty big. Hoping they don't jump ship like last time.

What I'm really wondering, though, is will The Pinball Arcade be on the Switch? This would be way better than playing on my iPod!
