Or so they say...
Anyways - I felt like going for a drive today, and even though I live in the smallest state,I have never been here. I'm glad that I did, though - it brought back memories of the old amusement parks (with their classic arcades) that I used to go to when they were still open.
The place has a few machines & I had a good time,if mostly for the nostalgia factor - and playing some really old pins. (I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit it took me almost a minute to figure out how to get the pinball onto the playfield on the older machines. (At least I know now what the second plunger is in Central Park )
Here are the pins that this place has:
They also had some video games, both modern & classic - and some old EM games too - shooting gallery stuff, basketball, bowling, baseball, racing, etc. and all the vintage stuff (and the pinballs) were priced out at their original play price - anywhere from 5 cents to a quarter.
I had fun playing most of the pins. Silver Cup looked to be in good shape, and it was interesting to play a game that old. Cross Town played kinda like Central Park, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if the flippers were a bit stronger. I liked Liberty Belle, and Superman was okay. Wasn't really feeling it on that pin. Still,I'm happy to have played it.
As for the rest...
I know Line Drive isn't technically a true pinball, but I was having fun playing it! (Heck,I earned two replays on the thing)
Knockout was...interesting. The flippers were by far the weakest out of the pins there, and the only reason I scored over a million was because of this crazy looking v-shaped metal piece that pops up at the beginning of the ball being played. (I got a pic of it below).
I had the most fun playing the DMDs. MM had a couple of lights not working, but otherwise everything worked perfectly.Of course, getting able to play one of my all time favorite pins for a quarter didn't hurt
Jurassic Park was fun as well, though the flippers could use some tuning up. (Also, the smart missile button would get stuck on occasion.) But,still - one of the better (IMO) Data East pins for a measly quarter is nothing to sneeze at.
So,I had fun - and if you happen to be passing by,you should check it out! It's only open during the summer though. If you want to see some of the pics of the games that I played today, you can find them on my FB
