Does anyone watch the Classic Game Room (different from the aforemented Gameroom) pinball reviews? A guy who gets full access to PAPA HQ and shoots bite-sized five minute reviews of the machines they have. He likes to seek out the unusual, lesser known ones so I always learn something from them. And you can tell he has a passion for the game, even if he's not a pro.

Yeah, he's another one of my YouTube subscriptions. Definitely one of my favorites. His take on TX Sector, Robocop, and Rollergames are my top three.

Mark from Classic Game Room is probably the guy that I relate to the most. He's been doing reviews for every system and machine ever made. I think I've seen every single one of his reviews. Probably developing a man crush.

I recently discovered a video of his where he reviewed a table in a typical vertical arcade cabinet. It's mirrored so it appears vertical. I had no idea that had ever been done prior to that.

And Iove his justification for liking tables sometimes. For example, purely because he likes a sound effect. We all have tables like that.

Exactly. I think it was Zach Sharpe that tells a story about the difference between how he and his dad play pinball; I may have the people wrong so i'll just refer to younger and older. The younger player looks for something to exploit in order to maximize their points whereas the older player shoots that one shot over and over, even if it doesn't score much, just because it feels good.

Believe it or not, I don't bother watching any of those jabs. Can't they both just get along? Seriously. GRC is great for the pinball playthrough videos they do. Half, if not a lot of them, involves beating the Wizard Mode. While TNT does get in detail about how they fixed the old pins, and that Todd did do an Understanding Pinball series, back in the day, I wish they would do some videos of actual gameplay, with some commentary, here and there. Now, I might get beat up for saying that I do like the comments GRC makes during the playthroughs (Keep in mind, these don't bash on TNT.), but it's kind of true, since I actually THINK half of these things as such events happen. For example, the game is going "Shoot the ramp!" or any variation of it, and they're bricking it multiple times, they tend to respond with a well-audible "I'm trying to!", which is exactly what I tend to say. Heck, their BBB video wasn't that bad. I like GRC. So what? Shoot me. I just think both companies need to kiss and make up, or something of the like.

BUMP:

GRC's still making immature jabs at TNT. They're shutting down their YouTube channel until April 1st: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhdnFNPhRMI

jaredmorgs, TNT Amusements have also updated their end stinger. Very hilarious, can't ruin it for you. They also seem to be focusing a bit more on comedy aspects... just see their recent The Getaway review to check it out. Still avidly supporting both companies to sell machines, but the jabs have got to stop...

They seem to be focusing a bit more on the T n A aspects.....how old is that girl?

The comedy comment was about TNT, not GRC.

GRC seem to have the questionable TnA content with the possible underage daughter and new employee as "eye candy". Which is really strange to say the least.

While TNT still retains my interest, GRC just bores me to tears, with the exception of Ray who always provides interesting technical information. Not to mention that he's the only one at GRC who comes off as a decent and "real" person.

TNT just seem like really friendly guys, and I love the main guy's passion for pinball. It really shines through, even though I skip the parts where he opens the backbox, you can tell he is really enthusiastic about every aspect of pinball restoration. He's always overjoyed to be showing them off. And the corny humour is kind of like jokes your dad makes - they're terrible but you can't help but laugh out of sympathy.

Yeah Williams' Varkon (the game Mark aka Lord Karnage reviewed) ROCKS!!! Damn shame they made only 94 (that's right) only 94 of them back in 1982-It was too much like a video game for the pin purists and too much like a pinball for the vid freaks; it didn't go over too well at the time and with pinball production declining due to the video game explosion at the time....

Time to update the thread:

- It looks as if Gameroom Collectibles doesn't care about pinball gameplay anymore. Now 2/3rds of their videos are either them guffawing at terrible eBay listings or continuing to make immature jabs at TNT Amusements. It also appears that no pinball-related videos were uploaded for almost 4 months (besides their TAF Gold feature). Get your job done and stop slacking off. The video below shows them talking to an unknown guy about how "we never put stickers on our aprons, unlike one of our competitors".

- TNT Amusements has been on a freaking roll lately. To be honest some of their videos actually succeed in cracking me up. They truly do feel like "a company that refurbishes and sells pinball machines" rather than "we sell pinball machines and hate every other company in existence". While they continue to focus on comedy they still provide some really in-depth features about how machines work, and fixing coils, etc. The video below showcases High Roller Casino, including a James Bond video edit and several aspects they fixed.

GRC just moved to a new location recently. I think that is why the gameplay videos stopped for a bit. They have been posting little bits just to remind you they are still there. I expect more gameplay vids from them in the near future as I think they already had their grand reopening at their new home.
But yeah, TNT has been cranking them out lately. Lots of great video games and pins. I can hardly keep up.

GRC I like due to the Gameplay videos, but TNT Amusements I like more because of the nostalgia of the 2002 Infomercial I used to watch every Midnight EST for when I can, it's what also encouraged me to get PHoF: Williams on Wii and recently, some TPA tables on my Phone :)

Tucky's entertaining. No argument there. And he knows a LOT about arcade history. BUT, I can't stand the TNT stickers he puts on the pinball aprons. Sure, if you take them off right away, no biggie. But most people don't and they're on there for years. I've removed old vending stickers and it's almost impossible to completely erase the fact they were there once. Tucky may be a reputable arcade enthusiast but, make no mistake, he shows his arrogance and narcissism with each sticker he puts on there. As if they're "his" game forever??? WTF?

Last years TNT York show vid showed Todd admiring a very old TNT sticker on a project F14. I mean, he was f*cking proud that g0d d@mn sticker was still on there and whoever would buy it would have to look at it or deal with its removal which, at that age, is going to leave some kind of mark.

And really, there's no need for it anymore. Just put a magnet or a sheet in one of the score card holders. And when Todd tells people who complain about this, "tough", I just wanna punch him in his fat f*cking face and tell him "YOU'RE RUINING THESE GAMES, A$$HOLE! YOU'RE NOT STEVE RITCHIE, PAT LAWLOR, etc! YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO HAVE YOUR NAME/BUSINESS ON THESE GAMES FOREVER!"

Otherwise he's an entertaining fat dude that's much better at promoting his business than that pr1ck at Gameroom Collectibles. Ray's still cool though.

Don't matter to me though. I'm not their customer base. All the games I buy are dead and have some kinda critters living in them, because I like fixing them...and I'm poor.

If I wanted to set up a dedicated Pinball museum here in Brisbane, I'd likely try to import a container myself. But if I had One Million Dollars </drEvil> I'd most likely say "load 50 tables up into a container, sans stickers, and send them to Aussie land. And Todd would be the person I'd talk to about that. He can send a table anywhere for $600, so I'm sure a container would cut down costs.

I was walking past a vacant lease space yesterday with my wife and started talking about how I'd fill it with pinballs and videos and where I'd put everything. The money, and return on investment, is the thing that worries me.

Sorry, off topic.
