I love Top Secret. Haven't seen it in years though. Wonder if I'd still love it. Very Airplane-ish in style.

And Top secret belongs here

The problem with most of those movies from early teen days is that they didn't age well. Partly because they were crap even then, partly becase we are much older now. But still, there are ones that are decent and funny even now. Those two, then Hot Shots, Airplane, Naked Gun series, first Porky's.
As a kid I also liked Mell Brooks movies, I recently watched all of them again and the only really good one now is Blazing Saddles, the rest are overdone, I didn't find them funny as I thought they were.

Yep. I used to love History of the World, and barely chuckled while watching recently. I just saw Young Frankenstein for the first time and am stymied why people say it's this hysterical classic. I literally smirked once. Once. My father smirked at me once...wait, different (and much better) movie!

I think Airplane is just as funny today as ever. Same with the first Naked Gun. Hot Shots hasn't aged well at all. That being said, any of those spoof comedies from the 80's are way better than any of the lazy hack attempts at spoof that have come along recently, like Date Movie, Epic Movie, Scary Movie, etc.

I'll agree on Airplane! - I've seen that in the last year and it's still hilarious. (Also if it's your kind of thing, watch the first season of Bosch on Amazon - there's a brief scene at LAX where there's a very familiar tannoy announcement... episode 6 or 7, IIRC.)

Maybe I'm just a easily amused, but I'm a sucker for all spoof movies. Even the newer ones. A Haunted House had me cracking up so hard. Love that way over-the-top stuff. Even Meet the Spartans had me lolling. Deformed Paris Hilton's little fake dog awesome, especially when she touches it with her gross hand.
