The problem is, those pins don't sell. FarSight already got burned with Season 2, which resulted in Apple cracking down on their "season pass" sales (I'm presuming far too many people complained, forcing Apple to react).

That's odd. I could have sworn Season 2 was the beginning of the the trend to dish on Gottlieb/Premier tables because of Apple and the Season passes.

It can be argued that pretty much half, or more, of any season after 1 is not worth it if people want to complain loud enough.

Ball spin coming in physics 4.0... that's also enlightening for what it doesn't say, that 4.0 won't be any major revamp or new engine, just an incremental feature.

Ball spin is important. It should eliminate any railroads, which has me believe that they should reset all leaderboards once it is applied to all platforms.

That is true. However, at least in Season 1 there was a "main table" and a "sub table" - the main table being the main reason why you bought the season pass, and the sub table was a cheap (usually 99 cent) thing which even if you hated it, it really didn't add up to much. So every month in season 1 was generally good. (This was also before they sold season 1 passes - the passes came after all the tables was released back in the day). Season 2 first offered the passes ahead of time and many people bought them. So when the second half of Season 2 was released, people were a bit disappointed.

But that was fine - the flames REALLY erupted when Season 3 started and the first few S3 tables came out that were WAY more fun than what you got on the back half of S2. People felt cheated - that FarSight had held back the good tables and finished S2 with crap, so the good tables were tucked into a new season pass. You could buy S3 passes for the first few tables, then Apple cracked down, hard because of this.

I'm sure those Gottlieb tables stood well on their own. But when you compared the second half of S2 with the first half of S3, people got majorly pissed and really felt screwed over.
