TPA on PC CAN work perfectly for me--but it has chosen slow-motion mode.

Devs--

Today I decided to explore TPA on my powerhouse PC, as I usually use Android.
4Ghz Skylake, GTX970, 64G mem, 4K monitor (1ms), Windows 10.

My experience:
1.
Installed from steam, and changed to 3840x2160 in dx9.
Tried it in DX9.

Game ran perfectly, but in slow motion--Very high frame rate, but about 50-75% real life speed.

2.
Went to DX11 config tab and changed to 3840x2160

Game ran PERFECTLY. 100% speed, 100fps (who knows, way more than 60) and I played through wizard goals on TOTAN, maybe 1.5 hours of playtime.

3.
Realized this could be the most amazing gameplay experience ever, and changed to portrait and flipped my monitor.
Changed the DX11 config tab to 2160x3840

Boo. 50% game speed bug.

4.
Went back to 3840x2160 and turned off portait mode, DX11 still

CRISIS. 50% game speed bug in landscape! This was just working in step 2.!

5.
Panic! Go back to DX9. Slow

6.
Go back to DX11 SLOW.

Screwed.
It worked in step 2, never worked in portrait, and now no longer works.

I know there has to be some trick to make this work.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you done anything to increase the frame rate over 60? I think TPA is capped at 60 (at least from my experience). So if you have more for some reason, this might cause the issue.

At least double check the frame rate you have.

Xanija--

Thanks, no, I was mainly joking about the 100fps. No, I haven't messed with any behind-the scenes low level settings in windows or nvidia.

It was running right, then it wasn't. :(

No offense, but it's not making it easier to locate the issue if there are jokes in the error descriptions.

Fair enough, okay, getting serious here. This is really strange. I KNOW I played it at 3840x2160 in step 2. But looking carefully at my monitor, it says, whenever I have windows set to that rez, that it is limited to 30fps.

Okay, so perhaps I was playing it at 30fps. Let's put a pin in that.

But by way of troubleshooting, I backed the rez of windows (and TPA) down to 1600x2560.

Monitor now says 60fps.
TPA now plays pefectly.

So when I go to 3840x2160@30fps, it seems like TPA wants to get 60 vsyn'c frames out each second (and can't), so the game appears to run at half speed. Is this possible?

Surely TPA CAN run happily at 30fps, no?

I think TPA is getting confused about the frame rate, and not adjusting for it.

But once today, for a sweet while, it was running at 4K normally. :)

So right now I'm running TPA in 2160x3840 in the DX11 config. However, I'm running my windows desktop (and thus my monitor) at 1440x2560@60fps.

It works perfectly. Just wish I could run my monitor native rez. Oh well.
