Bug TPA (Steam) crashes right at the start

It's telling that nobody has mentioned the startup-crash bug here - or maybe I have just missed it.

It's been some months since my last game and I wanted to play TPA again. What happens? The game doesn't even start but crashes right away.

The guys at Steam have figured out the reason and a workaround. Unbelievable that Farsight cannot provide a timely fix for this game breaking issue. Another nail in the coffin...

This has been mentioned, but it's posted in the tournaments section. This crash bug can be avoided by letting the title screen remain for several seconds before pressing Start.

Didn't work for me, I finally removed the login data.

Really, you can't close your eyes and don't provide a fix when your freakin' game doesn't even start. This is just wrong.

It has been reported in the beta forum, FS is aware of the issue.
