I was curious too, it looks like it passes through the section on the right.

When you look at the early promo what really stands out as being unrealistic is the look of the ball. It doesn't look real at all and it totally spoils the look of the game. But this just illustrates Farsight's best facet and that is they listen to the fans. It wasn't long after this where they listened to feedback and came up with beautiful realistic reflective chrome ball we have today on the consoles. If they continue to act on feedback this will mean the product will continue to mature and will become the ultimate Pinball simulation.
