Why do in app purchases, or unlocked entitlements, not show as DLC in library?

TPA is the only game I have on Steam that has this issue where any in-game purchased, or unlocked, DLC are not shown as in library DLC in the Steam client. Only the DLC bought through the Steam store will show in the library as owned DLC.

If FarSight stops TPA, will this cause a problem on re-installs for those who made in-game purchases or who were awarded tables/seasons as entitlements via kickstarter or from tournaments?

Can the in-game purchases/entitlements be shown as DLC purchases in the Steam library to reduce any possible potential conflicts or double purchases?

No they can't, as those entitlements didn't come via Steam. The only way for them to show up in the Steam DLC menu is if you bought it via Steam.

As the entitlements come via your Farsight Account, they will never be able to show up in your Steam list.

Yes, this is a problem on all the other platforms that allow secondary entitlements - i.e., iOS, and Android suffer the same problem as well. It's possible to double-purchase them if you accidentally log out or lose all your entitlements. And some updates do lose all your entitlements which leads to a fancy set of logging off, restoring purchases to get purchased entitlements back, logging in and hoping it refreshed all the entitlements. (Also, on iOS, if you b uy tables via the Free version of TPA, they show up on the Paid version as well via your Farsight Account, so it's not all bad if you confused which version you bought which table).

Can't FartSight start issuing Steam keys for entitlements, instead of doing direct unlocks to avoid this exact problem?
