Why was Pinball removed from Windows Vista?

Funny, I just played this game again yesterday.

It's a lot worse than I remember. :S

I read that and then another one about how proud the guy was capping pinball at 120fps so that it didn't gobble up 100% CPU time.

This comment made me laugh pretty hard:

EDIT ok it didn't go down to the comment but it said this:

Maybe you can fix that one too:

- You hold up a flipper to stop the ball
- when the ball is in flipper-range you decide not to stop it
- let go and immediately flip again
--> ball goes right through the flipper.

This bug has been annoying me for years (was already there in Win95).
Otherwise I really like pinball, it almost acts like the real thing.

Perhaps now that they fixed the flipper issue, they could port it back

Yeah, it was Maxis. They made the Full Tilt pinball games as well, which were equally as mediocre, but I did enjoy the sound effects.

I can't tell you how many days I wasted in Junior High and High School playing Space Cadet on Windows computers.

Could we possibly just copy the exe file from an old install of Windows and run it in Vista/7/8?

Should work - I believe it's a 32 bit executable so it'll work.

16 bit executables don't work on 64-bit. They may run in XP mode though.
