There have only been two kickstarters to get film or tv based pinballs released one of which was for the Twilight Zone which also got Star Trek The Next Generation funded and the T2 kickstarter in Season Two. The only other tie in was The Creature From the Black Lagoon pinball which was in Season One. The latest newsletter indicates the next pinball to be released is another original title by the makers so all of the pinballs titles released in Season Three have been original titles.

I would gladly support a kickstarter for Doctor Who or several others that I would love to see on Pinball Arcade as its almost a year since the last kickstarter and its time for a new one especially with the XBox One Pinball Arcade version coming out and the PS4 version released recently. I know there is an issue about getting agreement rights for the various film and tv franchises but if they can get Star Trek and Terminator rights resolved then it should be possible to get almost any resolved.

There is no guarantee a Kickstarter will work though, especially since each has had a diminishing return from the last one, and the most recent one, for Terminator 2, only barely reached its goal.

For TAF I think even a 100k Kickstarter would succeed. Soooo many people wanting it. If it didn't, then people can stop whining because FarSight can tell them "well, we tried."

Addams Family would succeed no matter what.

And furthermore it would provide enough momentum for basically whatever game Farsight would want to do afterwards.

I think a table like "The Simpsons: Pinball Party" would definitely reach it's goal. It's also a table that TPA has said, many times, would love to be the next Kickstarter if TAF never worked out.

Not a totally fair comparison. T2 raised more money than Star Trek. Of course there are other reasons Star Trek was so low but t2 did raise 10k more than the previous kickstarter.

Hell I think we would reach 200k if It meant getting TAF

If FS were smart, they'd bundle in another semi-popular license with TAF if they decided to do a KS. Like, say, WMS Indy (or something of a similar level of popularity). That'd probably be the best one to do, round out the IPDB top 10.

If FS could just pull a deal with Disney out of their easter bonnet, IDK if they'd need anymore kickstarters.

If I look at IPDB with a bit of practical thought on what's realistic, the next premiums to look at would be Simpsons Pinball Party, Judge Dredd, Shadow, and Dracula. (I'm skipping TAF, Disney, Data East which they haven't emulated yet, and later Sterns which they also haven't emulated yet.)

None of these licenses sound impossible at first glance.

Yeah, that's true--there was more money asked for for each successive Kickstarter.

Still, it does mean the rights holders for Addams Family might ask for an amount that Farsight might not be able to reach, especially if they know a Kickstarter will be behind it. I'm sure they know how popular the pinball machine is and will want to squeeze every last penny out of the deal as possible.

Also, no-one was really crying out for T2 to be made. Just look at the number of people requesting TAF. No doubt it would be funded in the blink of an eye.

If the next kickstarter isn't TAF then it has to be TSPP. A classic machine, technology already emulated by Farsight, heavily-merchandised franchise that Zen haven't touched (so Fox or whoever would be very happy to talk), no actor likenesses to chase. They would probably be able to get a package deal for all the characters, voices and music, given how merchandised the franchise is.

I think you'll see another licensed property either way. But Espy is probably right - if you have to do a kickstarter, there are few that will actually have a chance of succeeding.

What I think - you aren't going to see another KS until the release of the Xbox One & 360 versions at the least. Possibly the Wii U one as well,if it is still coming. But no way is there a KS done until Xbox revenue is coming in.

I'm pretty sure that if farsight can pull a Kickstarter for TAF it would be successful, TAF even have it's own topic in the FAQ for god's sake ^^
