Actually the pinball place I go to play real tables from time to time has a league going on with 2 women competing against 30 dudes. So there are exceptions out there.

I'm a Mechanical Design Engineer by trade, working in the deep Mining industry.
It's been 5 years ago now since the only woman that worked with us left. There was briefly a female contractor a couple of years ago but she only did a month before leaving.

Standards have really dropped round here... The bottom of the fridge looks like it has an inch of grated parmesan cheese scattered on it. People scratch and sniff with no concern who's watching...

Male dominance is not easy on the nose.
