This is the master issues list for Black Knight. This thread is maintained to aid FarSight in exterminating gameplay bugs, art issues, and sound problems from BK.

This thread is locked to keep it clean and focused on actual issues, as opposed to opinions about such issues. Report art issues in the Art forum, and all other issues in a new thread in this table's forum. I will add newly-reported issues to this thread at regular intervals. In addition, each bug has a link to the thread it was reported in; discussion of bugs should take place there.

  • Removed "Acknowledged" status from most issues, as the promised emulation has not yet happened, and I have no word on when - or if - it will.


Status key:
  • New - Issues that are newly reported.
  • Unknown - Issues from a long time ago that have not been followed up in a while so that no one really knows what happened to them.
  • Confirmed / Open - Issues that either I've personally reproduced, that so many people have reported that the existence of the issue is not in doubt, and/or that members have posted a demonstration (like a YouTube clip) of the issue.
  • Acknowledged - Issues that have been acknowledged by FarSight, but for which no fix exists yet.
  • Fix Pending - Issues that have fixed by FarSight, but the fix is in testing or submission process and is not yet available to players.
  • Fixed - Issues that have been resolved by FarSight. Note that not all platforms receive bug fixes at the same time, so an issue that is "Fixed" may still be unresolved on some platforms.
  • Could Not Reproduce - Issues that were reported, but the issue has not been successfully reproduced.
  • Working as Designed - Issues that are bugs or quirks in the actual table, as well as other issues that result from design or licensing constraints.

11-001: Pressing Magna-Save button does not activate it

Description: Pressing the button for Magna-Save when it is lit does not actually activate it.

11-002: Achieving a score-based Standard Goal or Wizard Goal causes framerate degradation
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: Achieving either score-based goal causes the framerate to suddenly degrade.
Cause: Error Game Center Save functionality.
Devices: Android, iOS
Status: Acknowledged as of 30 Jul 2012

11-003: Swipe to nudge does not work on right side of device
First reported: 02 Sep 2012
Description: Swiping to nudge only works once on the right side of the screen.
Devices: iPad 3
Status: Could not reproduce

11-004: Game ends stuck looping bonus sound
First reported: 02 Sep 2012
Description: Last ball drains, game repeatedly plays bonus sound and does not proceed to game over display.

11-005: Ball gets stuck at entrance to upper ball lock
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: Ball sometimes gets stuck in entrance to upper ball lock. Can be nudged out. Chance of occurrence is increased if 2 balls are already in lock.
Devices: iOS (Confirmed to occur on iOS v7.1.0)
TPA Versions: Confirmed to occur on iOS v3.3.1; likely occurs on older versions as well.
Status: Confirmed as of 13 Mar 2014.

11-006: Table displays stuck in "2" or "3" multiball animation
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: After multiball ends, the table sometimes continues to display the bouncing "2" or "3" as if it were still in multiball. Some users report that locks are disabled while this is happening, or that draining the ball results in the looping bonus sound bug.

11-007: Earning an extra ball actually awards two extra balls
First reported: 30 Jul 2012
Description: The next ball number becomes the current ball number minus one instead of remaining the same. This effectively gives the player two extra balls.

11-008: Table immediately tilts upon first nudge
First reported: 25 Sep 2012
Description: Occasionally the table immediately tilts upon nudging, even if the nudge was light and the player had not nudged at all previously.

11-009: Ball locked in lower playfield often ejects SDTM
First reported: 27 Sep 2012
Description: Lower lock eject is not strong enough and sends ball down the center drain instead of to left flipper.

11-010: Table locks often eject locked balls shortly after locking them
First reported: 07 Nov 2012
Description: Upper playfield lock sometimes holds the ball briefly as if it were properly locked and then spits it back out. The lock is usually not counted, although sometimes 2-ball multiball is started instead.

11-011: Inlanes do not light for nor score the Magna-Save bonus when Magna-Save is activated
First reported: 30 Jul 2012
Description: The inlanes should light for 10,000 and +5 bonus after a successful Magna-save. They don't.

11-012: Multiball does not release locked balls in proper order
First reported: 30 Jul 2012
Description: Lower lock kicks out at same time as upper lock. The lower locked ball should be released last, after a pause.

11-013: Bonus does not count down multiple times if it is multiplied
First reported: 26 Nov 2012
Description: The bonus countdown should count down an additional time for each multiplier. It doesn't, although it appears to score correctly.

ART ISSUES:

11-501: Locking a ball illuminates wrong lock light
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: Locking ball 1 illuminates lock 2 light and vice versa.
Devices: iOS

11-502: Top upper left drop target arrow is wrong color
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: Topmost arrow on upper left target bank is white instead of blue.

11-503: Shoot Again insert lit at wrong times
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: The Shoot Again insert lights at incorrect times. Also the light show for lighting an extra ball leaves the arrow inserts in an incorrect state.

11-504: Table has black splotches on it and other color issues

Description: Table has black splotches where they shouldn't be. Also the middle of the lower playfield does not have the yellow highlights and the green art around the multiplied scoring lights is nearly black.

11-505: Upper playfield front wall obstructs view of upper left flipper

Description: Front wall of upper playfield is too high and blocks view of flippers.

Description: Inserts are blue instead of original colors.

Notes: The Black Knight at CP Pinball has blue inserts in these locations, but I don't know the provenance of its playfield.

SOUND ISSUES:

11-601: No sound when activating Magna-Save
First reported: 28 Jul 2012
Description: Activating Magna-Save plays neither a magnet hum effect nor the special inlane rollover sound.

11-602: Sounds stop playing mid-game

Description: Sounds stopped playing after certain targets (reporting user did not specify which targets) are hit.
