This is the master issues list for Attack from Mars. This thread is maintained to aid FarSight in exterminating gameplay bugs, art issues, and sound problems from AFM.

This thread is locked to keep it clean and focused on actual issues, as opposed to opinions about such issues. Report art issues in the Art forum, and all other issues in a new thread in this table's forum. I will add newly-reported issues to this thread at regular intervals. In addition, each bug has a link to the thread it was reported in; discussion of bugs should take place there.

Status key:
  • New - Issues that are newly reported.
  • Unknown - Issues from a long time ago that have not been followed up in a while so that no one really knows what happened to them.
  • Confirmed / Open - Issues that either I've personally reproduced, that so many people have reported that the existence of the issue is not in doubt, and/or that members have posted a demonstration (like a YouTube clip) of the issue.
  • Acknowledged - Issues that have been acknowledged by FarSight, but for which no fix exists yet.
  • Fix Pending - Issues that have fixed by FarSight, but the fix is in testing or submission process and is not yet available to players.
  • Fixed - Issues that have been resolved by FarSight. Note that not all platforms receive bug fixes at the same time, so an issue that is "Fixed" may still be unresolved on some platforms.
  • Could Not Reproduce - Issues that were reported, but the issue has not been successfully reproduced.
  • Working as Designed - Issues that are bugs or quirks in the actual table, as well as other issues that result from design or licensing constraints.


GAMEPLAY ISSUES:

21-001: Nudging consumes Martian bombs during Martian Attack
First reported: 20 Jan 2013
Description: Touch nudging consumes a Martian bomb if any are available during Martian Attack. Issue not reported to occur with shake nudging.

21-002: Camera locks on plunger when multiball is started
First reported: 06 Feb 2013
Description: Starting multiball causes the camera to lock onto the plunger lane. Left flipper was functional but right flipper activated auto-plunger. Camera resumed normal behavior when multiball ended.

21-003: Stacking Super Jets and Total Annihilation immediately ends the game
First reported: 20 Jan 2013
Description: If Super Jets and Total Annihilation run simultaneously, there is a chance the game will immediately end.

21-004: Jet bumpers are exceptionally lazy and don't register hits
First reported: 31 Jan 2013
Description: The jet bumpers are very lazy and often don't register glancing hits, making Super Jets far harder to activate than it should be.

21-005: Balls exiting right orbit occasionally hit an invisible object and drain SDTM
First reported: 28 Jan 2013
Description: About 10% of the time, a ball leaving the right orbit will hit an invisible object along the right side wall and bounce more leftward than expected, usually into the center drain.
Devices: Android, iOS, PS3
Status: Fixed in iOS v.1.2.6 and Android, confirmed for PS3.

21-006: Making the top score does not award Game Center achievement

Description: Achieving the high score does not award the Game Center achievement.

ART ISSUES:

21-501: Strobe Multiball doesn't have strobing effect on mobile versions
First reported: 18 Jan 2013
Description: Strobe Multiball's strobe effect is severely weakened compared to the physical table.
Devices: iOS
Status: Working as designed, believed to require a dynamic lighting effect not implemented on mobile devices, similar to Cirqus Voltaire's Neon Multiball.

21-502: Strobe Multiball doesn't have strobing effect on PS3 version
First reported: 26 Mar 2013
Description: Strobe Multiball's strobe effect is severely weakened compared to the physical table.

21-503: Floor visible through coin return on PS3 version
First reported: 28 Mar 2013
Description: The floor is visible through the left coin return on the front of the table.

Status: Unknown

21-504: Chase lights on main saucer are nonfunctional
First reported: 17 Jun 2013
Description: The ring of red LEDs around the center saucer do not perform their chase sequences in response to in-game events.

21-505: "I" insert is incorrectly colored and textured
First reported: 21 Jul 2013
Description: The "I" insert below the upper-right Martian is pure white instead of off-white, and does not have the "star" effect common to the other inserts.
Devices: iOS (iPad 3)
