The pinball community has pulled together once again and funded yet another great table that will be coming to The Pinball Arcade on Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, Mac and OUYA by the end of August with time frames for PS3 (NA/EU), PS Vita (NA/EU) and Xbox 360 to be determined! The mobile tournament has just gone live and will continue until July 29th. The PSN tournament (which will have a separate leaderboard) will be starting within a few days.
If you backed us for $100 or more on the Twilight Zone kickstarter, you are eligible to play and should have received an email notifying you about the tournament last week. "With your help, we've now raised over $38,000 towards the goal of securing the Terminator 2 license! If we can keep up this momentum the project will succeed- you fans are amazing!
We've introduced a new $18 Reward tier that we hope will entice some of our $10 backers to increase their pledge a bit. For an extra $8 you'll get the Pro version of the Terminator 2 table (including access to the table operator's menu, a table exploration mode, and special tips on playing the table from PAPA tournament pros) on a single platform of your choice. In addition your name will be listed as a BRONZE backer in the game credits! Please consider raising your pledge a little to help us reach the goal!
We've been getting questions from fans about whether the Terminator 2 table will be part of Season Two of the Pinball Arcade, and if so what will be done for Kickstarter backers who already own a Season Two Pass. If the license is funded, the Terminator 2 table WILL be part of Season Two. If you already have a Season Two Pass and you back the Terminator 2 project, as a "thank-you" we will give you any other table of your choice (now or in the future). "We're a week into our Terminator 2 Kickstarter and we're already nearly 25% of the way to making the goal! Thank you everyone for your generosity!
We've been getting questions about why we chose to do the Terminator 2 table next (instead of the Addams Family table, or something else). Aside from the fact that T2 is an awesome table, we have a unique opportunity with T2. The licenses we need for Terminator 2 are NOT easy to get. We can acquire them but it must be done NOW. We can't go into detail about the particulars but if we don't act soon the opportunity will be lost, and it might be quite some time (if ever!) before we'd be able to put this together again.
