Pacific Pinball Museum is indeed a great place if you enjoy pinball from its early days to modern times. You'll enjoy it however you choose to get there.
Now that I play on the iPad, I play in portrait so I can see the whole playfield. When I used to play on my iPhone, I played in landscape because in portrait it's just TOO small to see, and my hands are too close together on that size of device.

Yes, the Williams System 11 era is pretty much my favorite era in pinball. Adding Black Knight 2000, and (presumably) High Speed have been enormous adds for me. I'd still love to see F-14 Tomcat, Red & Ted's Roadshow, and Earthshaker.
You may need a taxi to and from, but another excellent spot to find a bunch of nice restaurants is Belden Alley (or Belden Place). It's just a little alley between two tall buildings with several amazing restaurants.

+1. Indeed, it's so bad, I often try to make sure that Damsel Madness is lit before any of the others so I don't have to aim for that side of the playfield with only one or two Madness' lit.
