Yes, I don't get why someone would pick on the beta testers, for anything, really. Maybe the people who are doing the criticizing think the beta testers are paid. Or maybe they're envious.
"Goddess on a Hiway" - Mercury Rev (1998)
I think this may be the very best song/video that is almost completely unknown. Give it a try or I will find you and make you play Rescue 911 for three hours.
edit: well ok it hit #26 in the UK so i guess it isn't completely unknown.
I get all these 1980's pool tables mixed up. Besides EBD, we've got Eight Ball Champ, Laser Cue, Bad Girls, Rack 'Em Up, Nine Ball, and Pool Sharks. Good grief! I think I played Pool Sharks several times. I don't think I've played Eight Ball Champ, but it looks interesting to me, and Tony...
One weird theme: you're in a crazy funhouse with a deranged dummy shouting at you. Your task: put the dummy to sleep and then sneak into his basement to steal his jackpots. While you're doing that, eat as many hot dogs as you can.
Dan, you may want to read only the rules section called Combos. Looping the left orbit several times makes its value go up to 1 billion. I think it's five shots for 1 billion... four shots for 500 million. I don't think it's easy to do though, you have only six seconds to make each shot. It...
I love both, and both are easy 10/10 rating tables for me. I voted for Centaur, only because I know I still love playing it, while I don't know for sure that I'll still love EBD in a couple of years, after I've had the chance to get tired of it :).
Well, I've said my piece, probably way too many pieces, I'll stop now. Sorry for being annoying... :) Time to get back to EBD and chase #2 or maybe even Tarek.
Once again, this is not what I'm getting worked up about, at all. If I'm getting worked up about anything, it's people saying things that are factually untrue.
Let's be exact about what we're talking about. You said "A pin without ramps, multiball, DMD, licensed themes, and great sound, must feel to most TPA customers like pachinko feels to me." You weren't talking about new Stern machines; that's a different discussion. You're talking about what...
1990's pins are the most popular according to anything. None of the sources I mentioned are limited to "modern era" (what is your definition of that, anyway?) stuff. Do you have non-online only polls that say something significantly different from the sources? If not, why does it matter?
The...
Most customers don't care about licensed themes. For proof, yet again, see the smbhax list.
Forget I said anything about what the Golden Age is.
I assume you mean that someday pinball released in the last 16 years might be more popular than 1990's machines. Because they aren't now, and of...
It's not many folks. It's most folks. I honestly don't understand how this can possibly be remotely controversial.
I'm not claiming 1990's pinball is better, or that any individual opinion on the quality of a machine or era of pinball is right or wrong, or that every (or even most) 1990's...
Do you agree that they're the most popular with any group of people who have publicly expressed their opinion in a poll or survey? Well, you'd have to, as it's a fact.
1. I don't think so; the 1972-1985 period is obviously not "completely ignored" by Farsight.
2. That is bullsh1t. You don't know why TPA players vote for 1990's tables. Can you explain why the (top of, at least) smbhax list is virtually identical to the IPDB list, or the Pinside list, or the...
I'd like to see a source for your claim that pinball made more money than movies in the 1970's.
Weren't there about twice as many more machines made in the 1970's than in the 1990's? I can't find my Daina Pettit graph, but I remember it being about that. I don't think there were any more...
Thanks! It looks like this info is missing from the rules. Would the following be correct to add to the Rollover Lane section (and could it be written better):
"When the 50,000 value is scored, the next value lit will be Extra Ball if you are on the first ball of a game, or the Special in...
Here's a mini-poll for you guys. The top ten machines in the smbhax survey are: MM, AFM, MB, ToM, TZ, TAF, STTNG, TotAN, RS, and WWater. How many of these ten do you think EBD is better than? (Right now, my answer is one: STTNG. ToM is close, and comparing EBD to the other eight is laughable.)
Thanks. It sounds like a regional thing, then. There are actually probably more good-quality pinball machines within two hours of my current location right now than there have been since the 1990's or even 1980's. (My problem is that almost all are at least an hour away, and I have started...
