    February 18, 2012 - The Beginning

Hi Frank, Nice post, didn't actually know the start date of these forums. I joined in july of 2012, a bit late to the start of the party, let's say fashionably so :). I'm of the same mind when it comes to this site: the best (digital) pinball related forum that I know of, especially because of...

That sounds very Asimov-y, like the laws of Robotics :)

    3 bugs found so far

Will do, just didn't figure this to be the official bug thread and I'm always glad if somebody else let's you know they encountered the same bug. Quickie post therefore. But I also lack specifics yet as the buggy behaviour has not recurred yet.

    3 bugs found so far

Can confirm first two behaviours (no ball in plunger, 2 balls in plunger), can't confirm third one but haven't tried that yet. iPad Air 2, latest TPA (duh) and one version down from latest iOS.

    Hooray!

There is a lot to see when you have never been here, despite the small country, better not waste that on pinball. (Although we have had an opening of a pinball museum recently, a nice first for a 17M people country). Cheers!

What's the table for next month going to be?

Sorry to hear this Rich, I happen to think season 5 is quite good so far! F14 and HSII are classics that often get played in tournaments. Both are very fast paced IRL. I also liked No Fear and Judge Dredd more than I would have thought. Great to see the EM crowd get served again and Fireball is...

Table of the Week Club...Week 49: STARSHIP TROOPERS

My worst table! Only 57 HOF points. Don't like it, don't play it. So a perfect TotM table for me! :)

    Hooray!

Well, if you ever find yourself in the Netherlands (and specifically near Nijmegen on the border with Germany), consider yourself invited to check my LOTR out :) I also have an Indiana Jones (1993) and NBA Fastbreak.

    Tactics and Strategies

Boredom is the main ingredient of this particular grind :) I do a double flip (one instance in which it's not a beginner's style of play :) ) and cradle with the right, then backhand it. Do you shoot the backhand running Tarek? Or do you cradle first?

    Hooray!

Funny you mention LOTR :) I happen to have a real life LOTR set up home, and I can tell you that that machine is evil. I heard about long ball times on other LOTR's, even had some of my own on a friend's machine, mine will kick you though when you are down. I bought it in Germany from a...

    Hooray!

In Holland we had a time back in the 90's where I remember a lot of tables were set to 5 balls. Maybe because we collectively sucked on pinball as a people or something... :) When I got back into pinball with VP and TPA I had to adjust to three balls. Having played some tournaments on real...

    Tactics and Strategies

Almost got you there Relaxation but lost my focus after 600k. Tarek caught you though, no surprise there. I think this table will take 1M, probably even 10M as the iOS 1000 HOF score is at 600K. Weak plunging is indeed key to getting the ball relatively safe to the zipped flippers. It's all...

    Fireball / Eldorado bugs

I don't think iOS has autolaunch, it's just that any flip will register as plunge. I do concur that strange things are happening, I had a few games go to initials input while still clearly on ball 4 (of 5). As soon as one ball is locked in either of the two locks, and you just lose your second...

    Doctor Who Kickstarter

Yep, as a somewhat veteran of other pinball forums (pinside, old vpforums.com and current .org to name a few), this one here has by far the best atmosphere. It can be very tiring if there are trolls about....:) So it's also my favorite pinball place to be.

    Tactics and Strategies

Well, if I can aim for exactly the middle of the real estate between the guide rails right and gate to the left to the bumper area, I'm allright. To close to the right will either miss the blue mushroom and get wild, or hit it slightly and become a railroad to the right outlane. Very hard to...

    Tactics and Strategies

The weak doubleflip has one advantage and that is a repeatable and easy right cradle (providing you don't stagge it but time it precisely together). Although I'm not steady yet on the right backhand, this may be well the most safe albeit boring strategy. If you pass the gate, only good things...

    Medieval Madness Tactics and Strategies

Well actually (and this may be a non-native speaker thing, not making myself clear :) ), you actually still hold place #13 just above my #14. And when hell freezes over, I'll try again.... :) it's just those 300M extra I would gladly have scored....maybe I feel different in a couple of weeks but...

    Options for continuing TotW

Don't stop, I think you have a nice formula going here. For myself I was a more involved participant in the early rounds, but that's only because of increased real life pressures and therefore less TPA time in general. Although I'm not a tournament player, I think this is also a major ingredient...

(An attempt at) The top 40 TPA players from leaderboard scores

I think so. They may well play differently. At least physics will differ because I don't think the EM is updated to 3.0?

(An attempt at) The top 40 TPA players from leaderboard scores

This goes way over my non-IT head, but the part I do understand is that bi-monthly idea. I very much like my monthly scoreboard fix, so if you are taking votes, and I hope you do, please write me up for a yes-monthly :) I'm not into tournaments because I like to decide if and when I want to...
