It does work on iOS and although in the past there have been reports of (physics) differences between different platform versions of a table, I haven't heard anybody from the PC crowd say this about HSII.
This has been reported before in multiple forms but thanks for bringing it to attention again, I think this is a gamebreaking bug. See also http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/10601-Gamebreaking-lock-issue-Black-Knight
It's a funny thing Kickstarter, because a well-run campaign can become addictive and get a personal feeling. If the people behind the kickstarter can make it feel like that, it's easy to get invested. I supported some Kickstarters which I very much wanted to succeed (Pillars of Eternity, the new...
Very good news indeed, played dr. Who a bunch at a friends and loved it. I like the combo ramp shots to maximize the multiplier. The raising platform is a bit gimmicky but fun nonetheless, I'm curious how it will translate to TPA. In any case it's a good opportunity to learn what all those...
Well this thread covers the table quite nicely already. These are some minor additions and thoughts on the game:
- I'm torn between live catching the left orbit shots or let them bounce towards the Summit, have been live-catching mostly but also lost a few balls from failed catches. I'll have...
Hi fellow pinheads,
I think I just played enough to discuss some strategy. Currently at 29B which is 2nd place behind Tarek, who has a great score of 99B.
Crime Scenes = Bonus and EB
I think the points on this table are in the accumulation of Crime Scenes, who add 1M to bonus, upwards to 255M...
Just took second place with a 29B game. I played a couple of hours and still have only a third of the points scored by Tarek. The scoring doesn't really scale too, although the crime scenes add up to increase bonus. After 255 they will reset though. I got in a nice groove but couldn't sustain in...
Meh, it's always nice to have a new table but as others already said, a bit of a boring grind. I like the variation of the shots in a quite original layout but I'm still figuring out that upper flipper. I don't get the spinning disc and crane/magnet thing, what is the added value there? It's not...
I have had also more fun with this table than the ratings would led you believe is possible. I like the fact that EB's are limited which prevents endless games. When you play it very often though and get farther in scoring, it's too dependent on video mode because that nets you 35M each time you...
Please specify iOS version and iPad type. Common solutions for a lot of problems: logging out and in again, delete and reinstall TPA (after backing up with remote backup). You already tried a hard reset of the iPad. Is it a specific table that produces this behaviour or does it affect several/all?
I could be wrong but I have the impression that the order in which the challenges come is dependent on slingshot hits. On iOS most shots are makeable on the fly but the ones toward the middle are quite tight and risky. The one I have the most trouble with is the Skull shot from the right, that...
As a somewhat veteran of VP (mostly playing, some building/tinkering) I have an inkling what goes into making this from scratch. That's very impressive! Congratulations!
Fair enough, and with EB's not playing a part in the tournament, I can understand that strategy will sometimes have to be tweaked. So we'll regard the TotW thread as a reader's digest :)
You are aware of the fact that a lot (most in fact) of tables have dedicated strategies/tips threads? See for example: http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/1755-Funhouse-Tactics-and-Strategies
I usually mine those if I fire up a table that I haven't played in a long while. The fact that...
I had to learn how to time a live catch on the middle of the flipper in No Fear, because there most of the looped balls through the left orbit will end up. It still feels very late to me, but once you got the feel for it, it's very repeatable. I can do 3 or 4 out of 5, depending how dependable I...
Any table without major game- or even app-breaking bugs is a success in my book and I don't mean that sarcastically. I don't know how many of you were playing TPA when it was first released but back in those days there was no remote backup, the app crashed like a testdummy, you could lose scores...
Any thoughts about a 100B hard cap ROM/TPA? Is it worthwhile to farm the tube for EB and such? I have yet to crack double digits and I am experimenting how to best control the ball after looping the left orbit for the EB. Live catching is suprisingly easy to do, yet risky if not timed correctly...
