Slam23 is my homage to the best baller that ever played the game: Michael Jordan. Slam is another word for dunk, and Jordan played predominantly with jersey number 23. I have used this name since the time I got active on the internet, back in 1995. The avatar is quite a strange story. It's...
It's delayed. Happened before and was mostly Apple's doing: they have to approve each app and that process is sometimes longer than usual, for example with the release of a new iOS. This time it could be Farsight though, with them probably at work on the new Farsight-Stern app. Usually it's a...
Yep, that's one. But the problem with TPA is that it won't hold anything besides scores. That's why secundary things like most Catapults in MM or most Insanity Falls in WW are not stored (as long as you not leave the table you can still see them recorded). So I guess Frankenstein will have the...
Have you guys ever seen the custom conversion of a Johnny Mnemonic to a Matrix table? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feHCKIwfDjo and https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/the-matrix-pinball-machine-pinnovating/page/11
It's done by a Dutch guy named Gerard van Zanden, who also openened a...
At 1:38 it displays a book that when closed has the name of the #1 score "HAZ" (see also 0:36). So the top leaderboard initials are used in-game? That's a neat tribute to the player who got first! I don't know of any other game that does that? Anyone?
I don't know if this helps: http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/5160-Can-t-compete-quot-Save-a-ball-with-The-Spell-quot-goal
It looks like a weird combination of not able to complete the goal when you have an extra ball. Not sure if that's the reason though. I can't remember how I did...
I tried the flipper passing yesterday as you described but haven't had success with it. In half the cases the ball has not enough speed to make it over to the right flipper and needs a nudge with variable results. Maybe the physics on the table differ between iOS and PC? We have had tables...
I don't know how forceful the shaker effect is on PC, but on iOS I barely notice it (anymore).
@Tarek: is backhanding the "5" eject hole from the left lower flipper what you mean by repeating? This is what I do, and I sometimes alternate that with shooting safe shots directly to zones (left...
Hi Viking,
Nice addition: in essence you provide another viable scoring strategy. Work towards MB and then loop the ramp with another ball as insurance. Even with getting MB really going and essentially "looping" the Quake trip, it's still questionable if that really gives more points, aside...
I saw there was no dedicated tips/strategies thread, so I've created it with thanks to the guys who posted some tips in the "first impressions" thread. I've been playing Earthshaker a lot this week and just upped my best to 133M, good for #13 on the leaderboards. I didn't "get" this table at...
Just in case anyone hasn't heard of the "Restore HOF points" option under "options": now you can score over 100M on this table and claim those HOF points by using aforementioned button. This works on all tables mentioned in this thread...
I encountered this bug too, I think it happens when you feed the fault lane too quickly with balls after each other (funny thing is that the second ball stays up in the lane, waiting for the first to be processed, I would be interested to know if that is at all possible in a real machine, it...
I wouldn't count on it. I played a short game without any trouble but gameplay didn't feel altered in any way. In comparison with the recently released tables, this one is very slow!
I hate all shots that are disproportionate in terms of scoring and are one-time/luck opportunities, like the double your score last shot on POTO. I can't quickly think of another (have to go to work) but the Billion shot on Bride for example is repeatable and therefore exempt from my dislike.
I played one last year at DPO (Dutch Pinball Open) and being a huge fan of the show, it was a blast just to listen to the music and sounds, and see the art. As for gameplay I had little time to get a good feel for it. I liked the layout a lot, there were some nice shots to be made and it had...
I get this, I have the same with reading LOTR after seeing the films. I love both by the way, but I could't hold on to my own imagery after seeing the movies. Same with re-reading childhood books that seemed magical at the time, and now have lost something reading them through adult eyes. In...
