Bonus X maxes at 99X. The big Bounty is 1M bonus, which is a huge deal in tourney play. Tarek wrote something about restarting a game unless the 1st skill shot was the 1M bonus, or something like that, see the relevant tourney thread for more. :)
I don't think anyone has ever figured out...
Depending on the table: the name, the stuff in the ROMs, the sound, the toys, etc. Also, the manufacturer license probably doesn't allow selling of a version of The Shadow mangled enough ("The Dark Spot"?) so that there is no trace of The Shadow.
The modified Doctor Who seems like a dumb idea to me. The core of TPA is 1990's WMS pinball, and this "regeneration" has nothing whatsoever to do with that. The art would undoubtably be ugly and much worse than the original art, and add nothing to gameplay. I can't believe very many people...
Backhanding the left saucer is easy, and I think would be easier than this method even if it worked on TPA. Backhanding the right saucer may be easy too, but I don't have that down yet. :)
Hmm, I don't see anything unreleased in my Log.txt. Please post what you saw, or write SPOILER and skip lots of lines, or IM me if you don't want to go public :).
The strat appears to be getting as many skill shots as possible, thus locking balls as much as possible, thus releasing them after they are locked. Some timing needed to get max pts when releasing. I got 100k so far. I predict a 500k game pretty soon, 1M may take a little while.
Here's the rest of my notes on Voof's 1274M TAF:
11:53 - 352M, started next ball... i guess he had a ball locked.
11:30 - is full plunging, going for graveyard shot.
11:22 - 2nd drain.
11:10 - 399M. still wondering how he got 1274M!
11:06 - started MB. 2X Jackpot.
10:26 - 437M...
So I've played a fair amount this tourney, maybe 1/4 as often as in the normal tourneys. Contrary to what I said before, I enjoy each of these four tables so much that even if three of them are repeats, and T2 has a super-simple strategy, now I'd put this tourney near the middle of the pack...
So, it's time for another list, or was yesterday or last Friday. My computer has a problem: Perl is seg-faulting on me:
[~/pinball]$ ./rank-tpa-players -h
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
This is probably because I installed a cygwin package a week ago that prompted cygwin's setup program to...
FWIW... if it's released Friday, it will be six weeks since the JD release. According to my records (which I think are accurate), this will be the longest gap between releases on the PC platform ever, or very close to it... BSD came 6 weeks minus 1 day after Diner, if BSD was released on a...
I'd have to do a fair amount of work to answer this accurately, but I know I'd like to see any table with Dave Christiansen art, as long as I could figure out how to view the backglass in TPA :(. And I know Atlantis is very highly rated, and looks great to me.
On the contrary, thank you very much for your update! I really appreciate it!
Here's an update with the Fireball/El Dorado table pack. I scored this by averaging their release position; this gives the ".5"'s in the scores below. This also lets you see the five people who picked Fireball. No...
