I played quite a bit of Dr Who in 1996 and found it amazingly hard until I had lots of practice with it, to make the hard shots and learn how to cope with misses. And reading the rule sheets to figure out how to score from video mode, and which Doctors to pick. I'd love to see it make TPA but...
The main thing Thanksgiving means to me:
(1) Thankfulness for TPA,
(2) More time to play TPA.
Although this Thanksgiving, I'm also very interested in playing NF, seeing the next table hint, and what the next tournament tables will be!
I am ignoring Dizzer2012's rotten personality, fwiw. I'm only paying attention to his score data. I don't think he's going to become a decent person, although it'd be nice. It's hard to take him too seriously... he's so overblown that it's almost funny. And, ...
...on this particular...
Guys, may I ask a quick dumb question? Are the leaderboards for the Pro Pinball tables still maintained? If so, are players still upping their scores? If not, about when did they stop?
(I played a lot of Timeshock and Longest Journey, but not very well, when they were new. I think I may...
Picking favorites is hard, but I think BSD and Monster Bash are my two favorite TPA tables.
BSD had a very low reputation in the mid-1990's on rgp. People called it Dr*c*l*. I don't remember why... maybe it broke a lot or people thought it was all the left ramp. There wasn't one around me at...
If you're talking about the "BILLION" that appears in the DMD, this happens when your score becomes or goes over one billion. I don't recall any shot worth a billion points.
I actually specialized in one-hand pinball back in the 1990's and won a mini-tournament or two. It was my favorite type of novelty play by far. I could regularly get replays on Addams Family one-handed. I practiced it a lot, playing one-handed to finish off the credits when I was done playing...
Well, sort of. My opinion: the art is nothing special; there are several tables from 1979-1981 with actually special art. The sound is terrific of course. I actually think that the gameplay is terrific... with the gigantic caveat that each multiball run is exactly like every other one (after...
If Mr. House is trying to make me feel slow, he succeeded. In my shame, I resorted to goggle. He said it is Bill Withers - "Use Me". My guesses would have been wrong. But at least I knew it was late 1960's - early 1970's. Since I cheated I will copy what wikipad says about it and listen to...
Hmm... is DB9:
(a) A car that was in the Bond movie,
(b) A robot that was in the Star Wars trailer,
(c) The new sound system, Dolby 9, or
(d) Stern's new pinball machine?
I'm curious... what is it about the NF release that is different from other releases? If it comes out next Friday, the 5-week span is the same as half of the last 14 releases. The Facebook post with pics that you kindly communicated is a week before release, same as with Frankenstein. The...
Here's some data I've accumulated with PC/Steam table release dates and related info. Since BSD, it's been four or five weeks between tables about an equal number of times. If this data is correct, the only table that took six weeks on PC is BSD, and that's assuming the date on the Steam...
See if what you're seeing is what's reported in this iOS thread:
http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/10959-Leaderboards-not-registering-my-scores-(shows-a-big-fat-zero)
This affects me also, it's been going on about a week or two, and I don't like it but at least our scores are still...
Thanks for the kind words but I don't think I'm up to doing this officially as I'm doing a pretty shoddy job.
To answer your original question, here are the scores that I am currently blocking that are currently on the web leaderboards, that I'm "individually" blocking, meaning I'm not blocking...
