I meant to post this here and instead posted it under a similar discussion we are having in the podcast thread. Anyways, forgive the double post!

I found this interesting, regarding the new Oktoberfest table, which is of course filled with beer references:
On the Adult Mode:
“I want to get some more adult humor into the game. We’re trying to keep it family-friendly, but the plan has always been to add a little bit more in there for...
I keep saying it, it’s not just about the ESRB, but about Zen’s other licensing partners, as Mel hinted at in our podcast. Does make you wonder, is that why the South Park license didn’t get renewed? Not because of content in the table, but because the brand didn’t jive with others?
That's great!
I always took the opinion that I was more than pleased when TPA launched the first four tables, and I loved the first two DLC packs. Once the haze of enjoyment cleared and we all started thinking of the potential, that's when we started seeing chinks in the armor. After a certain...
They were just using the ESRB rating they already had for all their other Zen tables. Mel said in that interview that the studio had run afoul of the ratings board one other time, so the concern is real. I think what they don't want to do is resubmit each and every time. Again though, he stated...
Really? People are still claiming to feel dirty playing his designs? I don’t in any way associate those tables with his actions, and 99% of the Zen customers out there won’t even know his name, let alone the charges leveled against him. Honest question; is there anything on the tables that even...
Well those are down from the prices TWIP had listed, at 15/25/50. You know those prices have nothing to do with the cost of the license either, it's all about Stern knowing Beatles collectors will pay those prices.
That's where I ultimately come down to. Art touches, so long as they are subtle, whatever. DMD adjustments, only if done by WMS in the first place as an option. Gameplay is off limits.
I was fine with certain Festerings in TPA, but No Fear seemed really generic with all the audio they dropped...
Agree. I always felt for the people that bought certain games that were multiplayer only and then the company decides to kill the server, thus rendering the game useless. Sure you still own it, you just can't play it!
Indeed I am! One of the things I indeed liked about it was it perfectly stands on its own with an angle for the possibility of more to come. I hate movies that think they are a franchise before the audience has given the first movie a thumbs up. LotR was obviously different, where no matter what...
I don't believe they would do two artwork passes. That just gets too complicated and there's room for error where the art shows up where it's not supposed to. Right now Zen is doing self censoring which kinda causes me to twitch. They can have a table like Doom, which is literally set in hell...
Oh how I remember that. The Nintendo version had better graphics than the Genesis version, but the Genesis had all the blood and proper 'fatalities' rather than Nintendo's 'friendship' finishers. Still, you gotta love in the Mortal Kombat movie that when Johnny Cage defeats Scorpion, they put in...
But since he's on a PS4...
Press and hold the square button and then you can navigate the table with the left analogue stick. It pauses all action on the table when you do this, so don't worry about balls in play.
I would have agreed with you except the release of Whoa Nellie and BBH on Steam didn’t show any signs that the extra time was put to good use, and in a few respects they stepped backwards in comparison to the last few releases. That’s why I say these next few months are going to be really telling.
It certainly has been a fun 6 years of getting tables monthly that were new to digital (ignoring Visual Pinball, sorry). Although there’s going to be a lot of double dipping with Zen, I honestly think the next few years are going to be every bit as fun, if not more. So many of the frustrations...
