In response to PinballLizard:
Same here (iPad 2, iOS 6) although not at 85%. This also still happens in other tables like NEON multiball in CV and Final Frontier on STTNG. On WhoDunnit I seem to have some success with not touching anything (flipper areas, nudge areas) when the machine prepares...
I think all newer machines are designed to take some serious nudging, seeing as it is now an integral part of playing pinball. When you do go overboard with it, most machines will go on "slam tilt", especially when you move it in forward/backward motion.
When I was a regular on the VPforums site, they had a banner on top of the site with "fun facts". If I remember correctly, one stated that "at some venues to discourage players from nudging the machine, nails were driven into the cabinet, potentially severely hurting some of the offending...
I just tipped over the 25.000 HOF points with 967 on WhoDunnit. Don't you hate it when that happens? :)
I have 1000 points on the following tables:
Black Hole
The Machine: Bride of Pin*Bot
Medieval Madness
Creature From the Black Lagoon
Black Knight
No Good Gofers
Twilight Zone
Star Trek: The...
Hi Squid,
This 255 does seem similar to a hexadecimal limit of "FF", a frequently occurring maximal value in older computer software. Including 00 it has a range of 256 which is 2 to the power of 8, bringing it back to the basic binary system. I fondly remember hacking older games to try to find...
This 17th place seems to reflect my playing style more, and is more near to my 6th place on the mobile HOF leaderboard. I tend to buy all tables, and mostly score at least quite decent on them, on some of them I reach higher scores but I often come up short of the top 10-20. There are some...
Nice list, I see myself at a modest 32nd place, with which I am content! I usually lose interest in playing a table beyond the required point total for 1000 HOF points on mobile (which in my opinion is the harder platform to play on because of simplified nudging controls) Although I really...
+1 I like this suggestion. It would be fun to add some tutorial video's based on that training table, explaining basic and advanced techniques that are possible within TPA. These would be short fragments, dealing with things like cradling, post-passing, deadpassing, nudging, and cradle...
Good one VikingErik, I'm eagerly awaiting the BK2000 release for iOS. I got fairly good on the original TPA Black Knight and with the seeming similarities between layouts and possibly gameplay, I'm curious if some of my earlier experience will carry-over.
Some points that I remember from...
Phew, I'm over 1000 HOF points at last, clocking in at a modest 270M. But I did it without milking the Ring Master Battle, which teaches me to always check out the Tips & Strategies thread first.... :) Great read and explanation as always Sean!
I do have some additional points to make that may...
I'll be on the look-out for this STTNG named Oberdieck person, he may actually be from the future, that would explain the inhumane Big Shot score :-) So you probably backed the pro pinball timeshock kickstarter? I'm very curious how it's gonna turn out, can't wait!
Just as a side note: I found this rulesheet http://www.ipdb.org/rulesheets/313/blackrose-rulesheet-new.htm which states that the Jackpot can be build up to a maximum of 30M. I don't know if this is in the TPA rules (haven't got my device with me). There is no mention of the special-jackpot reset...
Nice write-up Thejake01, I was amazed at first to find no real complete rulesheet for this game. The one you linked to is incomplete by admission of the author himself. I know PAPA.org are looking into completing and expanding existing rulesheets but they link to the same rulesheet for Black...
Also no problem here with getting the table, it just showed up in my list of tables after updating the app. My first game (which I always purposely play without looking at the rules, only goal is to keep balls in play) I immediately scored 180M (completing 2 32M Double Broadsides), but after...
I think this could be a very professional product. I know JP de Win (Dutch designer and man behind the new WOZ LCD graphics) wouldn't commit to this if he was not sure it would be a success. Also, the boss in the outfit, Barry Driessen, has done a very professional P-ROC conversion of Bride of...
It would be interesting to know if Pat would use his Pro Pinball idea, or if he is still contractually bound somehow. Then again, I don't know how realistic his design would have been, considering that it would be used for a virtual machine. He may have developed like he was doing that for a...
I have played a lot MM lately (pushing my score just right over 1B yesterday). A lot of stuff is already covered, here are some things that worked for me, with a newfound appreciation of the Castle Lock Shot:
- If you get proficient with the castle lock shot, you have an excellent strategy for...
+1 This is the one reason I start a game over, even when I already invested a fair amount of time in it. I do believe Barnyard Madness is without Trolls, I racked one up with 91M the other day, if you keep it going it's a great scoring option. One other potential detracting element is the fact...
I'm passionate about hating Dr. Dude. It's a boring table with a stupid juvenile theme, irritating visuals and sounds, no flow whatsoever and all shots seem off to me. Combine that with brutal outlanes and a ridiculous maximum HOF score (although this is true of more season 2 tables), and there...
