If you can find a used card, GeForce 6800 or 7800 both come in AGP.
That would require a bit of physics rework. It may be possible to get it to work locking at 120 fps, but I would need a setup to do some extensive testing. Any changes involving physics become a bit risky....especially with 30+ tables already tuned with what we have.
Closing Steam and reopening usually causes it to download the latest. The download is fairly small cause steam compares bytes from one build to another and only downloads what changed.

Backing out of a table to the main menu? If so that was to fix the crash issue. I have a solution for this as well, but fixing the crash was more important.
