Forget SST. CftBL does nukes far better. I'm a sucker for Move Your Car, what can I say? If you need 50-80M to trip a rollover, though, it's as reliable as anything else you can do. Plus a few trips to the jets to push the base jackpot up, only way to do it once it's over 400M.
The trouble with the TPA version is that the left ramp is way, way, too easy. IRL it's as steep as heck, and even worse during multiball. You really take a risk shooting for it; balls that don't go in there cleanly have a habit of screaming back STDM. In TPA, any half-baked weak shot...
I was fine playing TAF on my tablet on a 'plane last weekend. Do you log out of your account every time you close the game? Or is it a difference between how the PC and Android versions work?
I may try using both balls with those 100+ jets Super Jackpots. If anything it will stop my left index finger from getting too numb!
As for what to do if a rollover is pending... really it depends on how far off you are. If it's a billion or more, you're better off draining multiball to reset...
Here's how I approach multiball. It may help. It may not.
tl;dr: Keep a ball trapped on the left flipper almost all the time. The only time you want to use the left flipper is to search for the girl on the Slide.
1. Always start multiball by locking the ball in the KISS lane, not in the...
As far as I know - you're safe going from 9,xxx,xxx,xxx to 0,xxx,xxx,xxx. Anything else and the rollover isn't counted. It just feels very, very, wrong having to intentionally end a multiball because you know the next jackpot/super jackpot is going to screw you over by rolling the score.
I plan on recording my entire tournament like I did last month. Still not got the hang of marking highlights though, not sure I can mark more than one segment per video.
You can swap ROMs freely between The Addams Family and TAF Gold. The playfields are the same, the Gold ROM just adds some new rules, modes, and call-outs.
If you know where to look, you'll see that Farsight purchased a regular TAF table with a Gold ROM. Presumably they got a regular ROM from...
The safest and easiest way to hit the Snack Bar is from a trap on the right flipper. You can get a 100% safe trap by putting the ball up Move Your Car and into the bumpers. Move Your Car is an easy shot from either flipper, either trapped or moving.
The only time you should be going for a...
Really? I played an actual Dr Dude last weekend and the Mixer was no more difficult to hit than in TPA. The Ray shot, if anything, is easier on the real thing - feels like there's a bit more room. Magnetic Personality (or whatever it's called...) works differently too, it gave an easy trap on...
Cradling seemed the right way to go on this one - I'd say about 25% of the time I was getting it to exhibit that TPA-like behavior, the rest of the time the ball came out over the left side of the slingshot harmlessly.
Well, I just shot 38B - except of course it was only 18B thanks to the ol' rollover bug. Quite dispiriting to spend 2 hours on a game only to lose half your score thanks to something as stupid as that. I really don't like having to micromanage my scoring just so I don't trip the bug, one of...
When starting multiball, a full-strength plunge allows a catch on the left flipper.
Another bug I discovered today: if you collect F in FILM from the Snack Bar and it's your 2nd/6th/etc. KISS, the KISS count is incremented, but the EB is not lit. The count required for an EB remains at 2/6/etc...
