Hey Ryan
I know on NGG the ramps are opaque because, well, they are HUGE! Enabling transparency on most of the ramp surface would be a total waste of resources, because there is not that much under the ramp that is obscured. Except of course for the most important part of a table: the outlanes...
I wish there were people like you in Brisbane, Australia Molly.
Curators. Enthusiasts. Preservers of all things hallowed and electro-mechanical.
Apparently TNT Amusements have been restoring and shipping a few machines to Australia for a "museum". I subscribe to their youTube channel, where...
I have been experimenting with HDMI output on the TF300T for Pinball Arcade. Overall, it works really well.
What I have
Full-screen play.
Mirror mode between screens.
What I don't have
The only thing I'm not getting is sound output from the monitor speakers, but I'm 95% sure that is an...
Ryan, is the issue with Monster Bash Pop Bumper Skirts a known issue: http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/2129-Monster-Bash-Pop-Bumper-Skirts-totally-missing
Was the decision to leave them off the bumpers to save on poly's?
On Monster Bash, the orange pop-bumper skirts are missing completely on all three pop bumpers. Was this a conscious decision made to save polygons?
This was observed on Android.
You can see the silver bolts which attach the pop bumper mechanism under the playfield. These should not be visible...
Just noticed this today when competing on an off-line personal friends leaderboard spreadsheet.
When I opened the FS Leaderboard in-app, and looked at black hole, I notices some seriously high scores. I was at around 900 on the leaderboard.
To reproduce:
Log onto the leaderboard in-app...
Scared Stiff and Big Shot for the next release. I look forward to using my telepathetic power on SS. Will be really interested to see the counters turn on Big Shot. Never had the pleasure of playing a true EM table.
It's great we got ten days worth of fixes that iOS didn't get. Thanks to Google...
It's funny you mention the camera angles. I've only since started to play in Landscape orientation, because I have the required equipment to connect the TF300T to my widescreen 22" monitor ;)
I thought the same about the tightness of the multiball cameras on the tables. So much so that I'm...
That issue also happens on other alpha-numeric displays. I observed that in the Taxi/HD DLC last month. I think it was to do with Ryan's tweaks to Alpha/Numeric display rendering.
So this is definitely an edge-case, but while Ryan was updating the table files I tried to download the tables.
When you try and do that, this is what happens. Thought you might get some mirth out of it:
This is what happened after downloading NGG without table files backing it up :D...
You known what we're like Ryan: we're quick to tell you if there are glaring issues with beta builds.
Other PAF users have suggested that you should roll out the way you engage us as a testing community as a system other FS platforms could use. I understand that the iOS team doesn't get the...
Who mentioned the Local High Score issue in taxi. The top score is hard-coded, and here's some proof.
And, **AHEM**, that is a pretty good score for me. I should be up toward the rarefied top of the leaderboards with that one.
I'm looking at you Pop_Seargent and Bonzo ;)
Based on your awesome work already, I was inspired Shane!
Here is my Wii Classic Pro controller mapping for TPA. I have sent the mapping XML to you via gmail so you can host it on your site.
I have to say it is pretty awesome to be able to use the analog stick to launch the ball, and have full...
Just noticed that Android users will have to wait until iOS gets their 4-pack table updated into the App store, before Android gets NGG and EATPM.
Unless of course, you follow this thread :)
Thanks again Ryan for involving us in Beta Testing. We appreciate the trust you put in us to provide...
I love how every detail has been thought of, particularly how the ball exits from the Party Ramp.
A little wibbly-wobbly, then the ball drops onto the playfield.
Just like real tables with these type of ramp ends.
So glad to see this email. So now we have two stupendous tables in the works for our playing pleasure.
Thanks Farsight for negotiating the licence minefield for these tables, and to the backers for being awesome!
On the TF300T, you have a HDMI port that allows you to output to a landscape screen.
I wonder if using a computer to record the HDMI output as input would work?
Forgive me Ryan, I'm a bit of a process geek. ;)
Ahh, I see. The ROM code and collision meshes (what controls how the digital ball interacts with digital table objects) are single-sourced across all platforms.
So how a ball repels off a collision point of a slingshot rubber in Black Hole is...
So are the table graphics assets and things like that common across all platforms? So single-sourced if you like? Is fixing thing like the Medieval Madness flipper gap a fix once, deploy globally task? I know the ROM Emulator sounds Like it is common across all platforms, however I am curious...
Now that Farsight have redesigned the leaderboard to remove the reliance on Facebook, it makes sense to add some richer functionality to the boards.
Many of us on the forum like to compete against a small group of players, and find it hard to wade through the pages and pages of scores to see...
