For the first 2 seasons, each table pack consisted of 2 tables, with the exception of TZ, ST:TNG, and Terminator. I may be wrong (and I don't really feel like taking the time to check), but it was a new table with a table from one of the two PHOF discs. Once they ran out of those titles, they...
Tim Arnold is a hoot. If you ever do get a chance to go to the PHOF, you simply must have a conversation with him. And don't worry about getting him ranting, he'll do that all on his own! On the same hand, do not even think of disrespecting him or the PHOF. This dude's blood, sweat, and tears...
It absolutely looks fantastic, especially on a machine like that where the light show is so key. I also think about how much fun Strobe Multiball would suddenly become on AFM. I certainly wouldn't play in this mode when trying for high scores, but to experience it like this is to experience...
As much as Xenon would have normally gotten my vote, I went with Fireball. I had a chance to play one, and where normally I hate those tiny flippers, it became a whole new game once they moved in on each other, hence the 'zipper flippers'. Throw in the spinning disk, it becomes a lot more fun...
Winding down? Ha! We were just winding down for that episode. Fear not, a new one will be recorded shortly. December is not exactly easy for us to record in for some reason. Can't quite place my finger on it. Anyway, more BlahCade is on the way for 2015, usually once a month.
Thanks for listening!
I've played it at 2 different collector's houses. The tables are in prime condition. It's just a hard shot to hit, not unlike hitting the trap door shot on Funhouse IRL.
PL was the first designer who's name I bothered to learn way back when. Wasn't on purpose, either. Considering Banzai Run is the first pinball I specifically remember where and when I played, and then a few years later having Earthshaker and Whirlwind in the arcade I worked at, and Funhouse...
Actually I suck, and I'm playing with mostly basic cards as I spent all my gold on buying the expansion and not on buying card packs. Really wish they'd hurry up and come out with the iPhone version, as I'm usually doing 5 billion other things when I'm sitting at the PC. I'll add you in next...
I love how in the description for Earthshaker they talk about the moving earthquake center, but didn't do it then. I knew they weren't going to, as it was for prototype only, but still.
I think the table looks really good, the inserts aren't blown out when lit. Plays a little too easy compared...
Jack*Bot is so much more fun than Pin*Bot because of the rule set. The fact you can gamble on whether or not you'll hit a shot before the clock expires is great. I watched a guy lose his mind when he risked a 1 billion payoff, and suddenly couldn't hit the shot he'd been nailing all along. He...
I've been trying to push the idea that if Leader Boards reset every month, there'd be a reason to go back to the game. FarSight also really needs to get online head to head implemented, as that too would stoke the fire.
It's not a knock on the game that there is a growing sentiment of burnout...
