Also a fan of Sorcerer. I don't understand the dislike for it.
As for recent Stern games, they're mostly awful. The artwork is a mishmash of photoshopped images, the build quality is iffy, the over-use of voice samples puts Zen Pinball to shame, and the choice of licenses is dubious. The...
I really hope it's not Central Park. That thing is a hideous drain monster. Even with 5 balls, 4 of them are going to be house balls.
And with the (hopeless) nudging on the touch devices, it'd be even worse.
Space Shuttle, OTOH... bring it on! Love that machine.
Do the tables have ball shadows and reflections?
I've only played the console and iPad versions, and the difference is pretty stark. (Shadows and reflections are missing on the iPad.)
I think the iPad is a much better device overall (when you take the OS quality in to consideration), but shake nudging???
I don't know people even play some of these tables on the iPad. For me, the nudging is basically worthless.
Don't know if already mentioned... but a joint Dr Dude AND Firepower video is now up on YouTube.
Not really interested in Dr Dude, but I loves me some Firepower.
It could really use a bit of audio work though. There's a lot of ball and ambient sound missing. Which is much the same for all the...
Doing it at 1080p at 60fps is another thing entirely, though.
Can't imagine you'd see a fur shader running on the mobile devices.
And I wouldn't hold your breath for the shader on the consoles either.
Instead, I think we'll just see the usual: painted textures.
Do you have any figures on this?
Because RROD was a LONG time ago, MS set aside a billion against reparations, and extended the repair period. The vast majority of RROD customers got their machines fixed for free.
And a billion sounds like a lot, but not against the whole life cycle of the...
Lots of new footage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFyoThNqPfY&feature=youtu.be
Production values are high, as always.
Nothing much new to see in terms of basic table flow. It mostly looks very Zen-standard, bordering on cookie-cutter. Just once I'd like them to try a centre drain post...
Yeah, I'm sick over the voice over work. You get really tired of hearing the same asinine slogans over and over.
All the recent Stern tables are the same. I sure hope there's some options to turn off the voice samples in XMen, Avengers, etc.
Do any of these LEDs have ramping circuitry, to make them fade off naturally like incandescents?
(The decay/ramping time on LEDs is too quick normally; instead of pulsing, the light just flashes on and off instantly, which is irritating to look at after a while. As well as being cold and harsh.)
Yeah, it's missing the warmth of the incandescent bulbs, along with the myriad reflections, bounce lighting, coloured shadows and everything else that makes the real world... realistic.
Some of this stuff is obviously too hard to do for a video game at this point in time, but still... these...
Not a fan of them, myself.
And many of Zen's mini-games are undocumented, boring to play, and unrewarding. Like the rather stupid Moray eels segment on Secrets of the Deep.
I'd rather just have better pinball elements.
Could you please remove the squalid looking "art" (like that "Game Over" sign) from the background environments? It looks low-rent, and is just another thing that detracts from the presentation.
If you can't do an arcade environment, please just consider a neutral, dark texture. (And one...
The Xbox 720/Durango architecture is also different enough that backwards compatibility is going to be an issue.
So far, it does not appear that the machine has hardware specific to BC. And emulation is problematic, at best.
It may well be that all developers will have to do the "remastering"...
Chrome rails! Thank baby jesus for that.
Can't stand the look of Stern's tables, with their painted metal.
And their Home Edition games look like cheap plastic crap.
If you're going to fork over $5000 or whatever, you don't want it looking like it came out of a cereal packet.
(Personally, I didn't think much of MGRR. Just more of the same, with ordinary graphics and even more Kojima pretension. It seems more cutscene than actual game, just like MGS.)
Anywaaay... it's a bit unfair to compare shooters/action games with pinball. Pinball does a different set of...
