If you are just resetting the classic single player boards, then there shouldn't be much of a problem. The casual crowd that would be up in arms mostly just play the Zen physics version from what I can tell.
Actually, all pinball machines (that store high scores) have this feature. Some machines have an option to deactivate it (such as WMS tables), while others don't (such as Robocop). You can also adjust the number of plays before the high score reset.
FWIW, Robocop's max score is 9,999,990...
It was Plants vs Zombies and it happened in 2013 IIRC. They did some changes to rule set to make game a bit harder and wiped the leaderboards. It wasn't just a single death threat though but several.
Pass! A better option for PC and PS4 is buying Yakuza 0. It has over 20 in depth (bowling is one of them) mini games along with its main game. Not to mention, it'll cost the same price as A Pro Bowling.
Keep in mind, that Mel is just a PR rep. Information is subject to change at any given notice.
Mel just relayed the information that Deep (lead developer) said. Deep has stated over on the Zen Forums, that if everything goes well the physics would be applied when the next set of tables release...
This happened to me yesterday when I played the machine. The scream echoed around the arcade. It was definitely a head turner for some.
It reminds me of Killer Instinct's Ultra Combo shout out. It would echo are the entire arcade. Definitely an attention grabber.
I just played the tables today on the PS4 with Zen physics. I was able to hit the ramps consistently on those two tables. Perhaps it's limited to just the PC version.
Stern just released the information (details and 31 photos) on their Facebook page today.

Note: There is no Pro model. Instead, the 3 models are Premium ($8,000), Limited Edition ($9,600), and Signature Edition (TDA).
I notice one bug fix actually. They fixed the flipper hum sound effect on the EM tables in TPA.
In previous updates, it was either bugged (kept on getting loader and loader) or was missing completely. Now it's a settle and consistent hum across all EM tables.
Like SYT said, it's more likely a marketing thing than anything else. With NDAs involved though, who knows what's really going on.
For all we know, Disney might have paid Zen to just market Star Wars Pinball for Switch and have nothing else complete with it. Or it could be that the rapid...
Didn't realize that you had a Vizio. Try setting the picture to Computer. I have two Vizio TVs myself and their version the Game Mode is more designed for retro consoles.
I can see a few early solid state (ESS) machines being made. The four ESS tables by Steve Ritchie (Flash, Stellar Wars, Fire Power, & Black Knight) would be appealing enough. Also, the System 9 tables (especially Comet) have a good shot as well. The way they market them will be definitely be key...
I prefer option 2 myself. I'm a big fan of the Pinbot series and I would love to have better versions of NGG and TOTAN. While I would be fine with Option 1. I'm just not a big fan of Cactus Canyon.
Simple! TPA is an older program, which doesn't take full advantage of the Xbox One's features. Pinball FX 3 on the other was designed with the Xbox One in mind and taps out more of the Xbox One's power.
It activates during certain modes (ex Road Course, Mustang Multiball). According to the rule sheets, it acts as a shortcut.
