Nah, I can still enjoy the game just fine; however, this game will be obsolete to play if all the tables (except Jive Time) are in The Pinball Arcade. I can even play Pro Pinball while enjoying Pinball Fantasies.
Yeah, I was a little hesitant to pick this up since I heard about installation issues. Can you describe the physics engine? If it's not too problematic to run on a Vista laptop, I might pick this one up.
Somewhat tricky; Theater of Magic, Black Hole and (to a lesser extent) Ripley's Believe It or Not are all A-tier designs to their own respects. All three are quite addictive. My most played is Theater of Magic; I think my reason is the atmosphere of the design is catchy. Once Medieval Madness...
If I were a designer here's how I'd change it:
For around 20+ tables, divide the tables up in columns by company from oldest to recent; Gottlieb, Bally, Williams, and Stern, in that order. Also, I'd line up the tables from oldest to newest.
Once the table quantity gets to 30-50+, I would keep...
Interesting note while playing Pro Pinball (post-The Web), right when my ball is fixing to drain very early on (which gives the player an extra ball), I can sometimes plunge the draining ball out to the center while the other ball is activated, thus creating an unintentional multiball; even when...
The Death Save, a sharp forward nudge (when timed right) that pops the pinball up while it's going down the center drain from the outlanes (with help from holding the flipper in the direction to where the ball is draining), is a move often considered a controversial move. Some say it's cheating...
I just ruled out the iOS version; someone pointed out to me that there are scores over 10 Billion points on the iOS leaderboards and sure enough there are. I changed the thread title.
I looked at the leaderboards since someone pointed out to me that there are scores over 10 Billion points on the iOS leaderboards and sure enough there is. Great job on that front. I edited the title name of this thread.
Thanks for addressing my request! I'm confident you guys can solve this issue. Do you think it could be possible for your leaderboard system to read score rollovers?
Score Rollover Recognition (Xbox 360)
I understand ROM codes do have score rollovers; however, FarSight's score display for their leaderboards (local and online) don't recognize score rollovers, which I think it should.
Yeah I said it the wrong way; the issue isn't with the game code. I think FarSight's own post-game score displays should recognize score rollevers, which they currently don't.
10 Billion Point Rollover (Xbox 360)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR_cb4wTiZU
This guy gets up to 10 Billion points on the Xbox 360 version of this table and the score rolls over and doesn't count his 10 Billion+ points.
Here are my main pros and cons with this release:
Pros:
Looks at least par with the Williams Xbox 360 and PS3 releases
Physics are an improvement over the previous collections
Leaderboards much better than the initial disc releases
While a couple tables have appeared on previous collections...
The original Pinball FX physics weren't very good; they felt too fast and stiff. Pinball FX 2's engine (especially once Marvel Pinball came out) feels much, much better; I feel the ball has accurate speed and weight to resemble pinball accurately. Not as great as the Pro Pinball engine or Little...
