[Explained] Controller Support Options for Android

Awesome, thank you Jared. Going to try making the switch from touchscreen to native with my SixAxis over Thanksgiving. I don't think I've fired up TPA on my tablet since the PC Beta came out, but with some travel in front of me, now's as good a time as any.

appearence and departure of pins at arcades

Unexpected tables in unexpected places in NH/VT. Imagine my surprise when I found a Scared Stiff in pretty solid condition (coffin was taped open, but nothing impacting gameplay) at a bowling alley in White River Junction, VT. Headed back that way for Thanksgiving, hoping I can swing by Lui Lui...

The Humble Weekly Sale: Zen Studios

I bought a fair number of Zen's tables on Xbox, but jumped as soon as I saw this offer. In portrait mode on my cabinet, these are pretty terrific.

Portrait Mode-DMD blocking upper playfield of some tables

Or they could just make the DMD moveable to another screen displaying an active backglass. :)

    I hate Stern

WOZ is a sight to behold. If you play in a location with the operator present, ask if they'll lift the playfield and checkout the underside. On the whole, yeah, WOZ feels more like a B/W. One thing that is very unlike B/W AND Stern tables: The slings are nearly silent when they fire.

The LEAST popular table you want to come to The Pinball Arcade

Kolchak, I suspect you and I played the same Genesis (it was at the Pinball Gallery last year in its old location.) Really enjoyed playing it and hope to have a chance to again. Incredibly underrated game. Espy, the ramps aren't especially steep, but they're long and the entries are somewhat...

    Cabinet mode table packs

The near-silence is a bit worrisome. I know the Farsight employees who post here aren't the ones making the decisions (and can't post on anything they haven't been cleared to post on) but it seems like either the decision has been made and it's going to be an upsell of some kind, and they're not...

Portrait mode on PC? (Update: Now Available)

Finally got this running on my cabinet last night. It ain't perfect, but it's a hell of a start. I'd be hard-pressed to justify spending more money on a "true" cabinet mode if that's the direction Farsight goes in (and praying they don't!) but honestly, even if this is all I get, I'll be...

All controls frozen after entering my initials; am I doing something wrong?

Ran into this last night as well, had to kill TPA to get out of it. I can mess around with it a bit more tonight, but I think seattlemark has got it: The back button causes this.

    Medieval Madness reproduction

They could definitely overdo it on band-themed pinball if they did another, but both ACDC and Metallica are anything but bland. ACDC may be the best Stern table in the last 10 years and Metallica is a great start that could become a top table with a code update. Not a huge fan of either band...

No, VP, get out of my IRL!

The appropriate word for the sound made for a Replay on modern Sterns is definitely SCREECH.

    Table Pack #20 speculation

Wildly unlikely, but imagine if it was Breakshot, and Farsight used that as an intro to Capcom, and that BBB would be part of pack #21?

Possible season 3 tables based on polling results

WCS94 is a spectacular table. Surely the most underrated of J-Pop's designs. Only real complaint is that it is a bit on the easy side, but that's not terribly rare with J-Pop tables anyway. It would be a shame if we never saw it due to licensing reasons, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if...

Portrait mode on PC? (Update: Now Available)

Such great news. I can only pray the wifi adapter for my cab comes in today as well (I wanted to keep it offline, so I've been sneakernetting all my VP tables to it.) Worst-case I can drag it into the living room and hook it up to the router, but hoping it doesn't come to that. :)

Request Any chance of Data East tables entering the mix?

Love me some Magical Drop. It was pretty much the only video game I played at the arcade closest to me growing up. Most of the time was spent on the Fish Tales and Theatre of Magic tables there. :)

    Lets Predict 2014's Table Pack

Jack*Bot is very, very different in terms of gameplay than Pin*Bot. Filling the light matrix to open the visor and start multiball is about the only similarity.

Star Trek (Stern 2013) - THOUGHTS

I think an LCD the size of the enormous DMDs in some Sega tables (like BayWatch) would be perfect. The LCD in WoZ might be my least favorite thing about it. Way too much info being communicated simultaneously. Great for people watching, minimal help for the player.

    Random Tales of Glory...and Woe

For some sense of proportion, the settings on the machine I was on (which I believe were default) were 30,000 for an extra ball, 33,000 for a replay, and the lowest high score (which nobody had reached, I don't think) was 300,000.

    Random Tales of Glory...and Woe

Played in a tournament last night. 25 people, format was triple knockout (head to head matches until you lose three times, last man standing wins.) Won my first three games (X-Men, Funhouse, Shrek) lost the next two (BSD (holy hell that table's brutal) Eight Ball) but then won the next (Eight...

    Goodbye XBOX

A touching farewell, superballs. The PC release is everything the Xbox should have been, and now that it's here, the Xbox is officially a full-time Los Santos tour guide.
