TPA versions. I liked TZ live.
What do I like? Funhouse (my favorite in person, too), Medieval Madness, Mars Attacks, Theater of Magic, Monster Bash
My gateway into pinball came 40 years ago in my grandmother's basement on a Mystic Marvel table. :)
Early 70s for me - Mystic Marvel. My grandparents had one in their house that they'd bought for my mom and her brother when they were kids. So whenever we would visit, we'd head to the basement and play.
Later, my parents bought my brother and I a Strat-O-Flite for Christmas circa 1980.
I've...
Can't say I've been surprised in a positive way by any tables.
Two that have disappointed: RBION and Twilight Zone. Thought they'd be fun but I find them to be poorly designed, ugly, and not any fun.
The PS4 version of Pinball Arcade is also missing leaderboards, etc.
And, unlike EVERY other game ever made for the PS3 or PS4, Pinball Arcade doesn't recognize the analog sticks for menu navigation, forcing you to instead use the d-pad.
After seeing this bumped, I decided to revisit this table and see if I still hated it. However, I now have the PS4 version, so that's what I played.
And...
I still don't like the table. But I don't hate it either. It's roughly 10000x as good on PS4 as it is on PS3. You can actually see...
One thing I've discovered with my 12" Samsung tablet is that it's actually a bit TOO big for some stuff. I find myself having to move my head back and forth to read stuff at times and that can be annoying. In general, the huge screen is really awesome to have though :)
Ah yes, good old Amtex. First with Tristan, then Royal Flush, and finally Eight Ball Deluxe. Looked great but, like you said, reaaaaaaaly hard. And, of course, the taunting "Coming Soon: Funhouse" in the menu area. That just killed me, since Funhouse is my favorite table (by far). But then...
Played this last night. Just a single game. Didn't get multiball or anything but had a lot of fun. Definitely a table I enjoyed on first play more than just about any other I can remember.
When we asked for this feature back long before the PS4 was even released, Farsight told us they didn't even know that feature was possible, hence why it wasn't implemented.
Realistically, how many copies of the table could Farsight possibly hope to sell? 50,000? Maybe? So that means a payment to Disney of what? $50k? Plus the up-front fee? If I'm even remotely close to the ballpark with my figures, it's no wonder Disney won't come to the table to negotiate.
