Bah. I'd love to see Royal Flush, and now that I've seen video of Fireball, I want Fireball. (Both of those were actually remade as SS games, come to think of it, though the SS version of Fireball omitted one of its most distinctive features, the zipper flippers; I'd want to see the EM versions.)
This is a game that really makes me wish TPA had some way of saving the machine state long-term (which would also take care of Taxi's accumulating jackpot, the specialized mode-champion lists in Monster Bash and Twilight Zone, etc.) I realize there are doubtless practical problems with this.
Today I managed to get two balls at once into the BBQ/Boogie Bonus hole during multiball, and they got stuck back there in a restless way, moving and rattling around as the hole tried to kick them out. They seemed to be in a position that is not physically possible on a real table, though I'm...
One of the things I like about Bowen's videos is the instructive way he comments on his own mistakes. He also does commentary on PAPA championship videos.
...gee, Silverball sounds like it beats even the Vegas Hall of Fame. Amazing collection of old EMs there (Pinball Wizard is essentially just solid-state pinball).
There are a few bigger ones, but not many. More than I thought before I looked into this, though.
The Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas is probably the biggest, with something like 150 tables. Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH has 108, though not all of those may be playable at any given time. The...
I'm not sure this is such a big problem, any more than it is for TPA. You don't need a prerendered image for every possible state of the entire table (which would be impossible even in Pro Pinball); you just need prerendered assets, masks for lighting and occlusion of the ball image, etc. for...
That makes sense; presumably they could cover some other PHoF reruns at the same time. Space Shuttle and Sorcerer are system 9 (according to IPDB); Gorgar and Firepower are system 6.
$15 for 6 hours of free play??? Man!
I suck so badly, I can easily blow through more money than that at a place where all the tables are a quarter a play.
In my 1990s pinball-playing days I never got very good at it, in part because I tended to play two-player games with a friend of mine who...
Farsight seems to hope to eventually replace the scripted Black Knight with an emulated version. If they're really going to do that, I could see them devoting less effort to fixing bugs in the existing scripting.
But I don't know if they're actually putting any time into emulating Williams...
My other platform is Android, and there, the new tables have actually been coming out at a nice steady pace, if not bug-free. TPA is starting to feel huge enough that I think about getting more selective about what I buy... but whenever a new pack pops up, my attitude is that it's two new...
I haven't gotten it, but I've gotten most of the way there; my best game had 30 hits to the scoop. It's mostly a question of having the attention span to do it, and not get distracted by the rest of the game tempting you to play it and drain the ball.
For a while my daughter (now 6) just watched me play PHoF and TPA on the TV, but when we visited Funspot she was interested enough that I got her to play co-op with me, operating the plunger and the right flipper on Pinbot and Gorgar, which she recognized from the videogame. Then I pointed out...
