I recently got to play a Judge Dredd and got absolutely destroyed on it. Table was slightly warped to the left so any misses went straight to the left outline but man, I just sucked at it.
Although Steam goals were released this week there was no Twitchstream. This likely means that the game will not be released until next Friday, the 1st of July, is that correct? No table in June...?
I have played the new Ghostbusters and really enjoyed it - deep rule set, good flow, fun shots. Last night I finally got to play Stern's Star Trek and loved it. It helped that the arcade had the volume at full blast but man, what a fun table. As for other new Sterns which we may see in SPA...
So which tables from TPA have you played in person? And what's one you would LOVE to play for real?
For me it's:
The Twilight Zone
Attack From Mars
The Addams Family
Lights, Camera, Action
Pinbot
Theatre of Magic
Tales of the Arabian Nights
The Party Zone
Fish Tales
Funhouse
Creature From The...
1) Indy 500
2) Big Bang Bar
3) Fire!
4) Doctor Who
5) Tales From The Crypt
6) Mousin' Around
7) A.G. Soccer Ball
8) Eight Ball Deluxe
9) Devil's Dare
10) The Shadow
Looking at what I have left:
RBION - 6 super jackpots
Medieval Madness - Video mode
CV - Double multiball jackpot
Elvira - stupid one where you have to shoot side targets 6 times on one ball.
ST:TNG - missing 3 goals on this one
Genie - 3M
Dr. Dude - Double jackpot
Space Shuttle - 7x
White...
My favourite is Attack From Mars. Largely because of the Sci-fi theme but the game also is a lot of fun - great modes and a fun but simple layout.
For TPA I play on PC.
I'm in the same boat as you. If I can put in $10 (6 games) and get 2 or 3 replays I'm happy. I've managed to get high scores on a number of tables and Grand Champion on 2: Demolition Man, and Mustang (though my Mustang score was beaten) but it's not very often.
15 Gottliebs out of 73 total tables (incl. Indy and Dr. Who but not regen.)
20% of tables have been Gottliebs. Hardly anything to scream about. I'd like a few more EMs and I don't mind the Premiers being included.
I hear what you're saying - I think it's more the novelty aspect of it that I enjoy. I'm unashamed to admit that. I think I tend to enjoy a table which has unique features (er...except Goin' Nuts).
As for board games, my current favourite is Colt Express - always a lot of fun and a laugh...
I know some of you are beasts and have completed all goals on all tables but I thought it might be interesting to see how most of us do with the goals. I've been knocking off many of the tables recently.
I've completed all Standard Goals and have 30 tables remaining on which to complete Wizard...
I must be in the minority but I really enjoy Safe Cracker. It's got short game-times which is nice because I find some tables just drag (i.e. Scared Stiff). Plus, as an avid board game player the mechanics of the game section are fun for me.
That was my thought as well but I actually found these goals to be quite easy. Even the two balls in the plunger was quite simple, one would get there during multiball with the second ball cradled. I just left it in there and continued playing as a single-ball game. Once the second ball was...
I usually get a couple hours a week. Luckily I live in a city with quite good access to pinball. A pub nearby recently installed a Demolition Man which I've been having a lot of fun on. Put up a pretty decent Grand Champ score even though I completely botched my Demolition Time multiball.
I don't mind them so much in TPA though they are certainly a far-cry from what other companies were producing at the time.
That being said they are terrible to play in real life. Mind you I've only played Shaq Attack (which was in terrible condition), Super Mario (not too bad actually), and...
Looking forward to this one. Never played it but it looks like a lot of fun.
On a side note, I have played Stern's Indy Racing which was also quite good. I love the circular/whole table orbit.
