Yeah if they were constantly rebalancing I'm sure I'd have more than like 7 points on Carcass -- er, Cactus Canyon. HoF is just versus what some dude hard-coded into the backend and even leaderboards don't necessarily mean much -- I'm #205 on Fish Tails, but out of how many?
I really like how...
Looks like 1000HoF is set somewhere around 8.6B. A full-up Super Jackpot can net 600M so I guess it's doable, albeit quite a slog. Beats Carcass Canyon at any rate.
Obligatory Bowen tutorial here. Looks like a real drain monster.
I like the seams around the four larger fish lights in the middle of the playfield. I hope seams like that can change the ball trajectory -- I think that's one factor that makes TPA tables easier than real life.
The letters carry over from game to game, except for the E, and you are spotted a letter every game as long as you don't quit out of the table. Lose five quick games, start the DOUBLE round then make the corner pocket.
I just now got lucky and snagged it while in Pool Ball Mania which is about...
One thing you can try to break the tedium is the horseshoe. It's a quick easy backhand that can be repeated very quick for 20M a pop. The timer is only 4 seconds but if you can get in the groove that's at least 300M a minute.
Lord help you if you brick though.
Just had an hour-plus 2.7B game on the iPad version which is good enough for 3rd on the Leaderboard for now. My left thumb is sore. Here's what I did for posterity.
Get the Ball Up The Ramp There: 90% of this table boils down to nailing the ramp shot ad infinitum. The ramp works a lot like the...
Even a 'best of three submitted score' would be cool. Basing it on one game kinda rubs me the wrong way cuz of the variation inherent to pinball. I know PAPA finals are one game but that's a spectator sport so it's okay.
Also ditch the Hevetica timer in the corner for a cool alphanumeric LED...
The timed tourney kinda makes me wonder if there could be support for other times of time attacks.
Say instead of score you're timed to see how fast you can complete a certain wizard goal, such as getting Lost in the Zone or hitting a million in Haunted House.
While I don't mind the tables being easier when they're not trying to suck my quarters down, the PC version definitely comes off as easier to me than on the iPad. I bested my Funhouse score by a good 50% yesterday on my first full attempt despite not having touched it in months.
Part of it is...
I've never actually held a steel pinball before but some googling says they're about 3 ounces give-or-take, or about a third the weight of a billiard ball. I can see it now.
Next task: using a pinball on a real billiard table.
